Re: CA18det Dyno figures
Wolf 3D, the figures could have been better, these guys did not have a clue wats going on in the wolf(most tuners don't) so I basicly tuned myself with their input and my tuning ability is very limited.SonOfAnarchy ZA wrote:management?Draco wrote:CA18DET

Re: CA18det Dyno figures
Awesome stuff Gary! And thanks for the posts guys, its really fun to see the CA18 figures shine!
I cant post my figures as yet,...Found the 3 pumps has a restriction somewhere and they do not supply the volume of fuel they are supposed to which causes the car to lose power, the Wastegate's spring is also not hard enough causing the car to lose boost and my "Drift" cone filter is causing me to lose 10whp.....Yet the Drift cone filter with the black front cover we tested is more effective.
We ended on 286whp @ 7200rpms at 0.85 bar boost,.. There is allot of untapped Hp to gain. Going to do a couple of changes and dyno it to around 8200rpms with around 1.8 bar pressure.... Should be interesting!
PS im getting intake temps as low as 4 deg celcius in dyno room (given it was cold and raining yesterday), my intake temps seem to be below 24 deg.....
CA18DET (Forged bottom end)
Stock head (Reconned)
Arp head studs
Cometic head gasket 1.3mm
Cosmetic exh gaskets
800cc injectors
Modified fuel rail
Custom high mount manifold.
38mm Tial wastegate
60mm TB
76mm exhaust (1 box)
Dictator X2 management
FMIC
Custom Garrett t3/t4 turbo with Ar70 comp housing and .63 exh housing
Custom twin plate clutch and flywheel

Re: CA18det Dyno figures
You are over 95% duty cycle on those 440cc's to get 170kW @ wheels. Fit bigger injectors before you blow it up and have to start from scratch.
But we spoke about this the other day, so you know....

Re: CA18det Dyno figures
spoke to ross (the tuner) About it he says its 100% like it is he Said the car is not struggling for petrol at all he recons i can go to 1.4bar on the 440cc and still be safe
