Its in and running!!!!

It started with no problems, Not a single wierd noise or anything.

It's a very basic straight forward swap, No need to cut a single wire.

Taking the car to work tommorow. Time for the acid test. :)

congrats dude... i've only ever heard good things about these motors, and...

i have never EVER seen a motor cleaner on the inside of the tappet cover than this one you got - NEVER! i couldnt believe when i saw those pics (i think it was in another thread somewhere).

i still cant believe it was that clean inside and sitting at an engine importer's place.

Thanks Dude...

Looked long and hard for a good motor, the low down torque on this thing is amazing.

I’m looking at trying to get 170Whp (126Wkw) it should be possible, The motor push around 150 Whp (110Wkw) in my current trim.

Switcher
--------------
I’m actually a bit upset at myself, I installed the switcher for the cam’s first yesterday then took the car for a spin. It was amazing.

Putting your foot down at pull off would result in a wheel spin holding almost all the way to redline, 1st,2nd and 3rd where all very strong.

I used a mixture of map’s including some aspects of my DE map and the car was great.

N62 MAf
---------------

Drove the car around for about an hour stopped at the house then decided to install the N62 Maf, Compared to the stock SR20 MAf its night and day.

The stock maf has a 76mm Inlet dropping down to a 45mm inlet the tappers back the 76mm size, The N62 maf is a 80mm in size, Plus the SR20VE is fitted with a 80mm maf from the factory so anyway installed the maf updated the TP values in the map and the K constant car started first time.

Plugged in the wideband set the K value again and check the fuel maps, Pull out take a drive around the block and the power is GONE, The car doesn’t feel as strong as it was down low or up high. The AFR’s are in the correct range

It’s just strange that it’s done that, When, I fitted a 300ZX maf to the SX back in the day it was amazing car pulled very strong , But I think it’s a fuelling issue, I’m sure of it, just kind of ran out of time testing it ,waiting for my new exhaust manifold to arrive so, I can put the O2 sensor at the collector and not in the rear of the exhaust.

Also pulled timing to check and added timing to check but will keep the club posted to what, I find.

Anyway one of those thing

My impressions of the SR20VE
------------------------------------

Hopefully, I don’t need to put my flame suit on but, I tend to agree with allot of the statements made on other forums the SR20VE on stock cam’s fells the same high up as a mild cam’ed SR20DE but is doesn’t have the disadvantage low down of a cam’ed SR20DE . You have a mountain of low down torque and the ability to run through the rev range.

I can’t wait to fit the N1 cam’s then, I can have all the low down torque with all the high end power the 288 degree N1 offer.

yip, that I know, although I'm more into ceramic coating. A bit more expensive but comes without the itch and hassles. So when are you building a nice stainless induction pipe for it.

Car has ali intake(also heat wrapped), It’s a CAI already and the thermal spacer keeps the intake nice an cold to the touch...

Got my Stainless steel branch yesterday. Very nice stuff will take pictures later.

Just Worked out that I have spent almost R33000 rand in modifications to the car.

Fark that’s allot of money .
