Damn! That was one of our best events yet! We had a good turnout of 13 SX's (one S14). We all trickled into Shell Ultra City, and delayed our departure while we waited for the last SX to roll in from Witbank. As we all started driving off, we realised that qewrty's car wouldn't start, so we stopped again and had a look. Tried "un-flooding" the engine, boosting the battery, swapping the battery, etc. but no luck. We realised that there was no spark

Realising that there might not be a quick fix for this, we decided that most of us would head out and a few guys stay behind to see if they can't fix the problem. Luckily, by the time we had reached Hartes, the car was fixed and on it's way! See more at this thread:

The Xanadu shopping centre is a nice new mall near the entrance to Hartes. There was plenty of parking space. There was a bike club there when we got there. Our club was treated to a fantastic complimentary meal, as well as free drinks. Afterwards, one of the bike club members put on a bit of a show by doing donuts with his bike - everyone cheered and enjoyed the show. Not to be outdone, we all encouraged Bruno to get out there and show them what our club is made of. After getting permission for this, Bruno went out there and put on an AMAZING drift show in the confined space of the parking lot, finally finishing off with a reverse-180-into-the-parking-bay-type manouver! The bike guys were blown away! As were the SX guys, many of us have not seen Bruno drift before. Then the bike guys came out and did another show with a bike + side-cart going on two wheels (side cart in the air with passenger). All-in-all, a great show from both clubs! These guys were friendly and I hope we can pitch in with them at future events.
Afterwards, the bike club left, but most of us stuck around playing pool on the brand new pool tables. This was really appreciated by the organisers and owners of Stones, as we provided them with business long after we'd consumed the complimentary food and drinks. Thanks guys!
This was, once again, a fantastic event. Bruno's drifting was the icing and cherry on top. I know some of the other drifters in our club could've jumped in too had they had the right tires, etc. Maybe our next event should be a drift show somewhere? Preferably somewhere where other clubs can appreciate it too.
Anyway, thanks to Jaco and his fiance for organising the venue and the comps - it is really appreciated!

yeah many thanks to jaco and stones in harties. it was a great day and i'm sure it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
i did get to the meeting point far too early, but traffic was light, and no-one got in my way - so it was plain sailing there - or should i say low flying!!!
but it was very good to see everyone arriving. watching all the sx's pull into the parking lot was wicked cool.
what no-one else saw was the morris minor club was parked in the bays opposite the ones we used at shell. it would've been even cooler if everyone had arrived before they left. i think they had about 10 cars there!!!
sorry to qwerty whose car wouldn't start - but the problem was solved quickly and they made it. i thought it was a little ironic that the only s14 was the one that gave problems for a change. even vlades seemingly doomed s13 gave no problems at all!!!
bruno's SLIDESHOW (and i dont mean powerpoint) was FANTASTIC. i am now convinced of his supreme driving skills. there arent many people out there with that kind of control and placement. putting the car in the perfect position to reverse into his parking was brilliant.
everyone's sx's are really looking good. i was glad to see some other grey ones. we were 3 in total. the red ones were gleaming which is not usually the case with older red models. draco's and toby's cars were looking like they had just been resprayed!!! the number of white sx's was overwhelming, but that was cool cos i think white is one of the better colours!!!
so to everyone - thanks for making it a wikked cool day!!!
i'm looking forward to the next big one!
