Did not have much to do this weekend so I thought Id get cracking on the turbine/waste gate setup.
Will have to get a smaller waste gate as the 60mm Tial just will not fit the way I want it to..

Yea that 60mm waste gate is huge!! Why don't you run twin wastegates off the housing??

The shop needed an ally welding bay for our upcoming Hyundai approval.
Off I go and get a Lincoln TIG welder and all its paraphernalia .
Lekka ! Now we can weld stainless and ally.
Oi !! I try welding some stainless stuff yesterday. Now Im pretty good with my hands but yowzers ! What a royal fcukup !
Any coded or experienced TIG welders around Jhb that can come show me what Im doing wrong ??

Lol, ja that's no joke getting the hang of Tig, my welder is covered in dust ,haven't tried in at least a year...

Ok, so I am not as bad a welder as I thought I was ! Took the housing en alles to my welding supply company and spoke to the top welder there..Nice job he says..great I say..He did recommend a different grade filler and perhaps purging the inner housing.
Thats great but Ill simply clean up the after weld on the inner housing.
Said it was difficult to weld a 1.6mm tube to a 5mm stainless material successfully..
I personally know I have a lot of improvement ahead of me but overall , I feel ok !

Ah, got my old car back ! Gearbox has been sorted and is absolutely perfect. Long ratios are back in and ready for Sunday Supertrax day again..
