Saw that in the picture ! Must be the loud screaming I heard when I drove into the shop..thought it was from outside..

The nice thing about Vari is that they size the pistons to suite oem stuff so that you don't have this total over kill in brakes..Feels awesome on the road and will be put to the test down the mine shaft at Kyalami this Saturday.

Disc size is 354mm x 30mm , 4 pot caiper with HANDBRAKE mech built in ! I now have to mod my cables and will then have the handbrake working as well.

Which is always a GOOD thing !! 8) 8)

Managed to get the cage in today as well. Nice part is that the roof lining and carpet stayed in. Rear panels were slightly modified to accept the cage but it still keeps the road feel and look.
As much as a bolt in cage can !

Shot guys ! Nice dream there bud...!

The cage went in after I saw a BMW lose it a while back. If it was not for the cage I doubt the oke would have made it.
Sh*t happens incredibly fast ..

must also say my car handles differently now..strange, will get more road time and see if it is my imagination..Tomorrow is Kyalami again with the BM boys. Always a pleasure with them.

Looking Good! Even with the GTR's, I noticed a great handling improvement after the Cage is fitted. Enjoy!

Did some Kyalami laps Saturday and Swarties laps Sunday. What a difference in handling ! The suspension is actually working , I can feel the rear end is "softer" and more compliant.
Mid corner the car just settles so much better than it was before..Initial on power turn in is also so much more controllable.

Makes me want to put a full weld in and tie up all four corners as well.. 8)

So, in anticipation of this weekends shenanigans at Swarties and the fact that sometimes I could not get the gearbox out of 4th at Kyalami , we pulled the box this week and overhauled it.

Back track a little here, I bought a Z32 gearbox from a mate of a mate of a sisters ex boyfriend...anyhow, you know how these things go down..box is in magnificent condition and blah blah blah !!
So this was to be the base of my new fatboy box. Ja, right, opened it up and it was totally fubarred !! and I mean fcuked ! Teeth on gears worn in half type of fcuked.
Scrap one Z32 turbo box !!

So I haul all the spare fatboy boxes out and we start stripping to check. I find a good box and order new synchros and selector forks from Nissan.
Give the box in to my mate Wes across the road from the shop and he starts building. Yesterday we discover the Enjuku clutch is practically finished. (Good value though, over 50k km,s of hard driving with it !! ) Panic stations and I source a flywheel from Tobie.
It does not arrive today so I fit the Nismo twin I bought for the RB26 a while back. NOT what I really wanted at this stage..

Box in, clutch in and some mods since the Nismo clutch is pull vs push.
I drive the car this morning and she feels seriously perky ! Lekka I think...Box is beautiful and slicks into all gears effortlessly !
Now I'm super chuffed , clutch is gorgeous and box is sublime.

Im driving home this evening and jirre, the engine is revving its nuts off !! I start checking a few things and then it strikes me . My mate Wes ! He used a bakkie gearbox ! First three gears are super short ,big drop of 1700 rpm from third to fourth and a measly 200 rpm from fourth to fifth !!

Wes , you chop !!

So Im stuck with these ridiculous ratios for Sunday , too late to do another box right now.

Stew, show mercy dude....

You got plenty mercy! Im riding shotgun in your passenger seat! :( Unless Tobie works flat out for the next 52hrs I wont have a car to drive..... To much work and not enough time. Gave the guy a monster task and minimal time, hes tried hard though.

Going to open my old sticky box this morning and see what I can do before Sunday. I broke my own golden rule..Dont mess with anything before an event !!
