What should the viscosity of the rb25 fatboy box oil be ? I am getting conflicting data but seems I may have too thick an oil in the box.

The shockproof stuff is probably a 350 weight oil if you ask me ..

I just drained Redline shock proof out of GTR gearbox and changed to 75w90 GL4.
Was not sure what oil was in box, but had very hard shifting with cold gearbox oil, so changed. 75w90 feels the same, slight better cold shifting, otherwise identical.

Cheers bud, all info welcome. I may have found my problem, contacted Clive at Redline and I have put the wrong oil into my box.
Mmm, at R220 a quart this is getting eina.I stuck the std. 75w90 into it which is also a Gl5 oil. Not good for our synchros.
Just got the correct oil, MT75w90 which I shall put in shortly.
I have one day old 75w90 Redline for someone that wants to do a diff oil change.Free/gratis and fo bugger all..Done all of 75km in my box.

No, I bought the wrong oil thinking I knew what I needed.

I normally just tell them the application and they sent me the right(good) stuff. What oil do you have in your new diff?

Nothing serious, normal front fender +40mm and rear overs..may just pull the std. fenders a little..I like subtle.
