Thanks okes :) .. Though Micals car wins .. seriously pretty that thing!

So... calling all turbo Gurus ... *cough - Wynand - cough*

Im thinking Garret GT30 ... turbo for my SR

Most important bits currently in the motor that will effect turbo choice .. BC 272 Cams.. tit - retainers , springs, rocker stoppers. Aries pistons, Eagle rods .. arps

i was thinking GTX3071R... but some advise towards the 76 instead.

PS.. i have lag currently .. and i hate it!

umm honestly maybe do a twinscroll GT3071R and even with that you will have some lag. The GTX range is great if you are going to boost ALOT like over 1.5bar+++ only then they are better than the 3071 and they will spool slower.

1 question remains as always. HOW MUCH POWER? You could spool a huge turbo with some NOS added it all just depends what you want... GT3071R TS will make HUGE power no problem and spool lekker quick. Same setup I would fit to my SR if I could. Also you could fit something bigger - just make it a SR22 or SR24...

nah im not looking for big numbers at all, this isnt a dyno queen :P ... just want a good solid responding turbo with minimal lag that will suit the 272's, i prefer mid power range.

i was led to believe the GTX equivelants of the GT range were 10% better in all respects..? even spooling faster.. so is this wrong. Will a GT3071 spool faster than the GTX3071..?

piston slap.. hmm we are taking the motor apart again soon... but i cant see me scrounging any more cash up to waiste on this project unfortunatly.. as you can see i cant even afford a full set of rota's :P. The turbo is going to the be the last big spend... the Crowning jewel :)

Those 2 cars together are just awesome!!!!

Beauty and the Beast... You guys from KZN should do a combined feature in SnS with DrftZ, Poizen, Rat and hopefiully somone with a stock S13. Each one unique in it's own way and built for purpose.

One day when I grow up, I will also have S13 with a SR20!

My EVO has a GTX3076 , spool slower than old GT3076. GTX comp wheel are bigger than GT. Makes more power, with slight more lag.
Just go for a GT3071R (R7500 + VAT from Turbo direct), should have best response with decent power.
