Quoted from the bosch pump suplier site:
Bosch 0 580 254 044 Inline Fuel Pump
Bosch 044 fuel pumps mount inline (out side of your gas tank), most commonly rear center under your car or truck. Each Bosch 044 inline fuel pump provides 300LPH of flow and operate at 72.5 PSI. Bosch 0-580-254-044 fuel pumps are comparable to the Walbro 255LPH high pressure inline fuel pumps which can both support vehicles for up to 600-700 horse power. Can be used in sequence with an intank Walbro or Bosch 040 fuel pump.
that's a safely quoted figure from the site, chat to sergio from DocsTech, they have tested these pumps to well over that figure. Maybe i misunderstood when we spoke about it, but i dont think so..

im sure the walbro can pump more if it was tested..

:) the 044 pumps are used on lots of high power cars.
There is a guy on the audi forum selling them @ R2100.

044 pumps will NEVER flow 600l, I've used them before and have tested them but if you want to believe that,

i dont believe 600 - i take everything with a pinch of salt, i do believe manufacturers quote low so people wont push them too much though.. no?

i dont need anywhere near 600 anyway, so im good.

I will have the walbro 255 as the in-tank to surge and then the 044 as the main pump- should be good enough for what i need.

thanks for discussing ;)

Ok, so the clutch died on me. We opened it up and ha the coppers redone with ceramic. Thys fine for now, however the pressure plate and flywheel are on their way out.

Clutchmasters fx500 here we come!

Anybody doing drift practice on weds? I might go past...

Right - so i finally got it running, went past the drift track and within about 5 minutes found out that a non locked diff and such a high powered car do not go well together.. it was pretty much just single wheel spinning whatever i tried to do.

I met up with a bunch of the the drivers while at the session. Ernest is a cool guy and very keen on helping me out, he is full of info and resources! Riaan is another great guy with loads of time to help.

These guys seem very keen to grow the sport and are more friendly than any other motor racing guys that ive met before.

They introduced me to Hannes from Frix Garage, which is like a GarageD but in Johannesburg. He maintains and builds 80% of the drift cars around here.. He has offered to build my car and get me in the game.. some pics from his Garagae:

Ive bought a bunch of stuff so hopefully it will now become drift worthy!

Its got Tein Control arms in the front.

I ordered Tein tie rods and ends last night

Bought this XS and Autobahn Cooler

Swopped my diff out for a 4/3 ratio welded diff (should help this big turbo spool quickly as well)

They are doing a bunch of other bits including setup, more angle, oil pressure sensor, cooling sensor and checking if the dual fans will work, raising the seat so i can see the front of the bonnet for cones, etc etc

Looking forward to it!

OK welcome back - to myself!

lol

The car sat at JMS performance for the well part of 9 months.

Hannes Frans from Frix did the following - really nicely!!

• Installed and set up the suspension
• Installed Locked Diff
• Installed Oil Cooler
• Installed Driftworks Handbrake
• Service etc

Image

BUT - the car had a terrible stutter.. so we took the car to JMS performance.. the problem got worse, then better, then the car would just die, it became very annoying..

The car was dynod, retuned, new mapped, new dictator, new coils, plugs, DIS9 removed, diff boost controller installed, air filter pipe extended, dump was recirculated back into the system, new battery, loom for dictator, dynod some more, alu fuel cell.. and then returned... and then...... it started stuttering again!!

Image
Image

During this time, i sold the 18's to OPR and installed his WEDS 17's - which i have subsequently sold to RAT and i now have Raiden D1R 18x10's!! :) yes please!!

WEDS - Gone

Got it home, my mac buddy came past - fuel presure was on 2 bar at idle?!?! turned it up to 4, then the stutter disappeared...

But then, half the fuel lines werent tight and there was a moerse fuel leak - fixed that.

Then my company got contracted by XS Promotions to shoot the entire Supadrift series.. so i was offered help and support by them - i jumped on that opportunity.

I decided to strip the car out completely - hence the interior sale for those that saw it.. it now looks like this!

Image
Image

Problem finding time - when removing the plastic in the wheel arch, the main battery wire had been eaten through by the wheel touching :(

So then i decided fuck it - lets just rewire the whole car, take out the whole loom, make it a race car, small fusebox on the dashboard and toggle switches to switch everything on / off ie fuel pump, fans etc

It now looks like this..

SO THATS WHERE WERE AT :)
