About the drag ladder, I wanted to wait for THE PRESIDENT to announce but I can not keep myself from posting...Sorry Sir
Toby has spoken to Tim at the Rock and Tim has extended an invitation to our club that is very exsiting....our club may come to the track on sundays to use the drag strip....
That means we can do it proper, a nice day out and run some 200m runs while relaxing and braaing....same track, same distance...all good fun....us guys needing more space to get the guts going will have to find some other way to get enough speed to compete.
drag ladder is on....and whats nice is that it can be regular events, so if you did something new to the cabby you can reclaim a spot....it will always be revolving for as long as the invitation is open....
Thanks to Tim and the rock!!!!!

Sorry for missing out on posting the announcement Derek
First of all, I must say I had a real blast at the rock. They offer you such good value for money. Where else can you sit in a grand stand, and watch monstor V8 oval racers, then drifting with some spectacular imported japanese cars, then watch a full drag race from start to finish? Just brilliant and one of the best events yet at the rock. I hope more of the club members will support them.
So yes, Tim is keen on having our club there on a Sunday where we can have free-for-all drags in a very informal environment. Might just be the kind of thing to get the shy guys like me to give it a go. I am not sure if it will be a regular thing yet, let's see if we can get a good turnout first. Will post event details in a separate thread.
Congrats to Charl and Derek for some great drag races. That was really fun to watch. Love how relaxed Charl was with his window open, one hand out, one hand on the wheel during the drag against the almighty quick rx7. The orange car (capri?) was untouchable - that thing launches like it is being fired from a cannon, and that box shape beemer was seriously quick too.
Fun day out, hope to do it again soon.
