the oil pump drive snout thing doesnt go very far in or something like that, so when you start pushing big numbers it can or will start giving problems

You need money to play

First off, no matter the pump, make sure you have the full pump drive, most RB's besides late model RB26's have a very short contact area, this would need to be machined off and replaced with a full length unit.

Stock oil pump +/- R4000 - Not bad, doesnt fail often, can support good power, just dont bang it on the limiter.
Nissan N1 pump +/- R4800 - Total rubbish... the 2004 and older units were not as bad
Greddy +/- R9500 - Good, dont break to often but are known to have broken
HKS & Jun +/- R12 000 - Very good, very rare to hear of faliures unless its due to substantial abuse
Tomei +/- R15 000 - The best direct fit pump available, requires massive oil mods to stop over oiling

There are a few drop in gear sets available into stock housings, for the money you might as well get a greddy or HKS.

Me personaly, I would not go external pump, if your going to do the mission of mounting pumps, brackets, belts etc just go propper dry sump, will cost you similar to slightly more than a Tomei.

Remember, like an ECU is the brain of your car, the oil pump is the heart, if it fails you can spend massive money rebuilding, if not picked up right away it could cost you the whole motor.

It doesn’t take big numbers to make it fail..

They fail very often in close to stock forum from the research, I have done, Rev's seem to be the issue

I stand to be corrected but the problem is the snout is too small for the oil drive causing it to slowly eat into the drive resulting in gear failure and then engine failure.

The RB series motors had a few flaws, Stock from the factory the snout issues was fixed by Nissan in late model motors.

Not causing trouble ,Just asking out of interest

Also lookup the oiling issues the RB experiences

i spent close onto R130k now and i probally can only sell for 80k

my suggestion is to think long and hard about doing conversions,
do it because you love it and you gona keep it and most of all, do it properly first time,,,, if you plan porperly you wont have to spend money twice on the same things

would i spend all that money again ...No
