List of Turbo Changes Between Generations
S13 Redtop and Blacktop:
Bushed bearing Center Housing
T-25 Compressor. 60 Trim 56mm BCI-1
T-25 Turbine. 62 Trim 53.8mm 0.64 A/R

The second generation received an upgraded compressor housing and a ball bearing housing

S14
T-28 Compressor. 60 trim 60mm BCI-1 compressor wheel inside a T04B Housing
T-25 Turbine. 62 trim 53.8mm 0.64 A/R
This turbo is now referred to by Garrett as the GT2560R to follow with their current identification system.

The third generation received a more refined T-28 turbo. The compressor was the same BCI-1 wheel put inside a T04B housing, but the turbine received an upgraded inconel wheel and had a cast divider wall in the wastegate discharge path to help aid spool characteristics.

This turbo is now referred to by Garrett as the upgraded GT2560R to follow with their current identification system.

Riekert - I need to apologise to you first, cause your a buddy of mine! Yes this is the motor you where planning to buy. Unfortunatly I only became aware of you wanting to buy the motor halfway threw the buy.

hey mario...

thanks for the kind words!

the motor needs some work in my opinion, but you've got it now, and its complete - thank god for that! you'll be surprised what a few licks of paint will do - oh and a sandblaster!!! good luck man, and keep posting pics! let us know if you need technical help!!!

installation should be a breaze too - it all just drops in there!

my turbo is an S14 one too - does that mean its ballbearing?

Doubt it... Only the Jap spec S14a and early model S15's came out with the BB turbo... You might be lucky if its from an import motor...

It is ballbearing turbo, same as what faheem has got in his car and he has same turbo. Its only ballbearing on the compressor side... So dont get it wrong, its not a full BB turbo.

Thanks for all the kind words, will know the verdict of the condition of the motor 2morow afternoon. But Im confident it will be good!

Car should be up and running mid next week!

One lobe has been worn badly, dont know why MR. Calibrator didnt pick up on it! And the motor is open and is freaking clean! you can see the motor was only started up after recon...... Oil is still brand new!

But, they had SR20DE head gasket on there?????? How can Mr, Calibrator make mistakes like that? A bit upsetting, but the rest is all in great nick!
