SIDE PROJECT SPRAYBOOTH.

Post by westmaister »

SIDE PROJECT SPRAYBOOTH.

HOWZIT GUYS.
IM AT A STAGE NOW WHERE MY GARAGE ENVIRONMENT HAS A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON MY PROJECT CAUSED BY LACK OF SPACE,
TO MUCH DUST TO SPRAYPAINT & GENERALLY IMPRACTICALITY.
SO WHAT I'VE GOT PLANNED IS TO REDO MY GARRAGE INTO SOMETHING MORE PROFESSIONAL & A BIT MORE PROJECT RELATED PRACTICAL.
FIRST I HAVE TO GET A ROLLING CHASSIS SO IM JUST WAITING FOR MY BUCHES SO I CAN GET THE CAR OUT THE GARAGE FOR THE TRANSFORMATION.
WILL TAKE SOME PICS OF EVERYTHING IM DOING.
CHEERS FOR NOW

HOWZIT GUYS,
STILL WAITING FOR MY POLY BUSHES SO WILL HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE I CAN DO MY GARAGE.
IN THE MEAN WHILE I BOUGHT A COUPLE OF AFTERMARKET STUFF FOR MY CAR LIKE PEDALS,
MATS & A CARBONFIBRE BACKBOX.

Image

I ALSO GOT A INTERCOOLER & A PAIR OF HEADLIGHT UNITS THAT'S
GOING ON MY CAR.
ON THE INSTALLATION ON THE INTERCOOLER I DIDN'T WANT THE INTERCOOLER TO FAR FORWARD
OR TO LOW SO I DID A BIT OF
FABRICATION WORK TO MAKE THEM FIT.
FIRST I REINFORCED THE HEADLIGHT BRACKETS BY WELDING THEM UP.

Image

I THEN RESESSED THE HEADLIGHT BRACKETS TO MAKE THE
INTERCOOLER FIT CLOSER
TO THE BODY,THIS WAY I DONT HAVE TO
CUT & MODIFY THE BODYKIT.IT ALSO LOOKS BETTER I THINK.

Image

I THEN FABRICATET LOWER & UPPER MOUNTING BRACKETS FOR THE
INTERCOOLER, I MADE THEM A BIT MORE ROBUST, I WOULD RATHER
HAVE IT STRONGER THAN HAVING THE IC FALLING OUT AT HIGH SPEED.
I PROFILE DRILLED THEM TO MAKE THEM A LITTLE LIGHTER.
I ALSO MADE THE BRACKETS SO I DID NOT HAVE TO DRILL NEW HOLES
,SO THESE BRACKETS FIT STRAIGHT ON TO THE FACTORY CHASSIS TAPPED HOLES

Image
Image

UPPER & LOWER BRACKETS IN POSITION.

Image
Image

THE INTERCOOLER IS NOW INSTALLED.
ALL THE BRACKETS IN THE ENGIN BAY WILL BE REFINNISHED.
THIS INSTALLATION ALSO GAVE ME OPPERTUNITY TO FIT THE DIFFERENT HEADLIGHTS,
THIS FIT STRAIGHT ON WITH NO HASSLE LUCKALLY

Image

ILL BE MOUNTING THESE SHORTLY

Image

TILL NEXT TIME.

of cource it'll be finnished!wheres the positivity?
i might add a couple of things later though....
but the overall plan is to get it done so i can get it on the road before december!!
i just need to sort out the rolling chassis & the ceiling in the garage
then ill whip it!!
i also decided to make a semi striped racer so the interior is going to be basic, just painting!

FOR ONCE HAD A QUIET WEEKEND SO DID A LITTLE WORK.
IF YOU CAN REMEMBER FROM WHEN I DID THE INTERCOOLER I WELDED
IN A LOWER STRUT BRACE TO THE ARMS TO WHICH THE TRACTION TOE ARMS/RODS CONNECT TO.
BUT NOTICED IT MIGHT BE IN THE WAY OF THE SWAYBAR SO I CUT IT
OUT & MADE IT COMPLETELY REMOVABLE BUT JUST AS STRONG.
FIRST I GOT 18mm PIPE THAT FITTED IN THE PROFILED HOLES SO THAT
THE CHANNEL WONT COLLAPSE IF I TIGHTEN THE THREADED PART.

Image

NEXT I MADE A PLATE TO FIT ON THE SIDE TO WHERE THE FACTORY
HOLES WERE.

Image

I DRILLED THE HOLE BIGGER & WELDED THE THREDED PART TO THE
INSIDE OF THE PLATE SO IT WOULD FIT FLUSH ONTO THE ARMS.

Image

I THEN ALIGHNED THE PIPE, TACKED & WELDED IT INTO PLACE.
