i dont have the std stickers at the back but thinking of getting the 1.8 turbo 16 valve one made with the RB swap

Well had a small mishap last nite.
Put my stock mags back on, 17's are giving shit(need to get 4 tyres now...) so then went for a nice test drive. just to check the speedo and the tyres.
All went well on the slow sections under boost... Then this 1.6i golf comes flying past... so in the the age old tradition... I set off after it
boosts fine in second... then hit third and BANG! car cuts out, loses power and comes to a defeated and embarrassed halt...
Thinking the worst... I get out the car (taking into account this os 9:30 in the evening on a sunday....) open the bonnet and then just smoke... So I think ag kak... now I F#@cked up my motor...
got in the car again and tried to start, started first time, obviously didn't sound to bright but no metal on metal sounds... So it hits me, I remembered that the one boostpipe's fitting was not completely 100% right. So got out of the car again and checked the pipe. and there it is. the pipe popped of the IC... Relieved and feeling stupid, open the boot to take out my toolkit... and Murphy the bastard was in there before me

Remembered I took it out to clean the car earlier the day... oi... what luck... called a buddy and 10 min later I was running again.
Yeah!! hehe
Well checked the piping today just to make sure before I went out again. All was 100%
Took it for a spin and OMW!! Its insane! First and second just go into boost... hook 3rd and then open it up. pulls pulls and then pulls HARD at 4k rpm. goes till 6500 and hook 4th, doing 70km/h on the speedo @ 6k rpm

still pulls hard... switch to 5th and slow down for the blue lights in fornt of me... hehe. Man! that was so awesome!! Next time I'll take the video cam with, kinda forgot it...
I can't describe how awesome it is to actually drive my car again... Now for the bigger exhaust, tuning, ported intake and the bikirom... oh and some semis.
Might be going to CT next weekend... will see how my time goes this week, still need to get the motor registered on the cats VIN.

hehe lemme know if I should get some made for you. my sticker guy should sort us out. Will also get those rear window stickers make. and maybe some club logo stickers?

I know those feeling all to awell. Don't know how many times I've been stopped on the side of the road thinking the worst and it turns out only a boost pipe has popped off again!

@ Trance - Yeah its the first time that that happened to me so was a bit stressed.
@ Shane - Hehe never dude. If something went bang in the motor it would've been all my doing.
Yeah will hopefully be able to come through this weekend. otherwise next weekend. Depends on my Sister, its her birthday on the 11th. so they might be coming to Hermanus this weekend. But will let you know. So then I'll take you for a spin.

Well I fixed the speedo problem.... it was the speed sensor. hehe quick 15min jobbie.
then it was off to Cape Town.
Awesome trip. was fun to actually drive my car without any issues...
Well it made it there... and back. whoohoo!
chirps it 1st 2nd and 3rd. hehe
Only issue I'm having is its kinda "rukkerig" just before she starts to boost like at about 4k rpm... so ja.. not sure....
but otherwise its pretty good. pulls strong and can actually make it 200
