If thats to difficult take the cover off clean the sealing groove in the tank smear with grease or mold release and run a bead of silicone the right thickness in the groove.
Let it cure for 12hours before you bolt the cover down and hey presto you have a seal that can be reused.
And I didnt even charge you

i was going to take it to the crazy german(LOL) but i wasnt prepared to fork out the big bucks just yet.
i also didnt know you get o-ring in lengths. i will maybe look for some of that!
