I just realised I missed a whole load of posts haha!
I'd love to bring some parts over with th ecar. But household goods, car and garage equipment is dilling up the container very quickly.
I will be able to bring parts in when I have enough demnad whilst I'm there (contact). But it woul dneed to work on selling a whole load of quipment with full payment first before I send the money over here to put it all on a container.

Anyway, back on topic...here's this weekends work:
Striped off all the ancillaries:

Then whiped the rocker cover off (familiar sight):

Turns out the cams and rockers aren't that bad so I may not even use the replacement cams as I wont have to match rockers or shims. Just need to keep it all together:

And the head off the block:

I like what I see....no scouring....can still see the original honing marks and the pistons are pretty clean:

So a picture heavy update on work from today. I'm not particularly the happiest person as the bearings have turned out to be ok......so all I can think is the rattle was from the vvt and heat shields..... :smash:
Oh well....I'll just give it a nice fresh and if I get a few more jobs next month I'll go forged, might as well make the rebuild for some reason.
Sump Removal:

Ooops

Timing Chain and oil pump

Pistons and Big Ends

The worst bearing:

Crank and Mains:

Shiney bores

As it stands now:
