If it came stock with the SR20....keep it SR20.
Do:
Plug and Play management system,
FMIC
Ali radiator,
Elec fans,
Replace stock water hoses / turbo water & oil feed,
Oil cooler,
Nismo thermostat,
264 Brian Crower cams,
750cc injectors,
Cometic headgasket,
Tubelar manifold,
76mm exhaust,
Aftermarket clutch,
Water and meth
GT28turbo..........make 250kw and enjoy the ride! It will be enough to give most cars a hiding....
Great for track, drags, drift and daily drive! More than that and it wound be a daily drive!
My s13 with SR20 made 230kw max, was great driving around in it!

ive just done the RB25DET swop and couldnt be more happy with it, low boost, 0.65, making around 200kw, awesome to drive and sounds amazing, the RB's torque feels so nice
my car is a daily and will be used for the occasional track day, my reasoning for the RB as a dailly is:
at low boost and almost stock you can make an easy 220kw
its a strong engine with almost limitless potential
i want my car to be fast and reliable, so at this power the RB is at ease, makes the power easily and goes like stink
the l6 sound
and basically if you ever want more power it can make it quite easily, the initial cost of getting the engine in etc is costly but then after that you can make big power quite reliably and with ease up to 400-450 on standard internals
but that being said, an ORIGINAL SR here in S.A!!!!
thats special, i'd keep that, i agree with mario, if you gona change the engine then sell that sx and get another, my opinion, thats a 1in5 in S.A and thats more rare then any RB powered nissan here
a 220kw sx is a mean machine, RB or SR depends on your goals though so thats the big decision, would also help to drive a modded sr and an rb to gauge against each other if you havent done that yet
all my opinion

Sorry to burst your bubble Nirvash but a RB25 will NOT make 400-450kw on std internals
,You will have to forge the motor with all the bells and whistle to get that type of power reliably

Yeah you are looking more at those figures in bhp on stock internals safely!ljS14 wrote:Sorry to burst your bubble Nirvash but a RB25 will NOT make 400-450kw on std internals,You will have to forge the motor with all the bells and whistle to get that type of power reliably
Just my 2c.....Sr is a VERY good motor in the 200sx (s13,14,14a & 15). It's like a match made in heaven! Just sort out the weak top end issues if you are planning on revving the tits off it!
If you are still convinced you need a 6 pot in your 200....don't skimp! Put a JZ in there and spend a proper amount of time and work on getting it as far back as possible. A great example of what can be achieved with the JZ as far back as possible is the driftworks S15:

Almost perfect weight distrribution:
Total weight = 1238 kg
Front 54%
Rear 46%
No shortage of work and money is required though:

i meant 400-450 horse power, not kw, thats attainable from what ive researched, sorry for the misunderstandingljS14 wrote:(but then after that you can make big power quite reliably and with ease up to 400-450 on standard internals )

Followed their build, very nice work, but not practical for street use, like most guys do here.djtreble wrote:If you are still convinced you need a 6 pot in your 200....don't skimp! 2JZ are realy good engines, but for some reason it seems the Nissan/Toyota swop isnt very popular here.

My advice keep the SR.. even tho my sentra is not det but vvl im inlove with the SR20 ever since!
Dont mess up n perfect power to weight ratio car with a 6..
as for 2jz swop sorry my personall experience, toyota should stay away from nissan engine bays lol...
Never had so many problems with my nissan than with the toyota.
Sr20 FTW!
SR20 is cheaper than RB and can still make loads of ponies
