Just some thing i noticed when my turbo kaakd it was the same problem the top oil feed pipe was blockd with carbon its very thin .take it out and replace with a braided pipe its what i heard a comon sx problem

Rat dit you bin that pipey or what cos mine was in petrol for a week and could not manage to get any carbon out of it.i dont trust that pipe

I'm gonna replace it with a braided one cause i don't trust it either...

Hehe I had to do that also! Damn shitty nissan oil feed line!! Thats the reason my turbo failed!! AGH!

Anyhow, here is some progress on Evil D...

Got spraying this weekend:

The center console:

Ok so I took out the center console:

Prepping the flat surfaces with 100grit water sanding paper to get out a few nasty scratches....

Nice. What colour is that?

Also what paint did you use and what was the process. Prepping? Sanding? Base coats? primer? Sorry for the 20 questions but that's good info to know when seeing threads like these...

Hey G! It's all good!

It's black/gunmetal hammerite spray, the hammerite gives it a bit of a sparkle effect.

Ok and the process: First off I water sanded the parts with a 1000 grit sandpaper and then a 2000grit. After I wiped it clean with watered down thinners, just to get all the filth and particles off. Then I just sprayed the first coat of hammerite, no primers or base coats.

Sprayed 3 coats and then sanded again with 2000grit to get all the imperfections out. sprayed another 2 coats and then polished with wax. came out nicely I think.

looking good brutha. very good.

hey G - check for a thread from hotstuff for a full writeup on doing this mod. his is very detailed, and he used a clear coat with spf or something to protect the paint from fading in the sun, and to make it shiny! looks good!
