no man...

most of the s13 K's in japan had SR20det's!!!

just the exports weren't that well kitted. the americans got the truck engine (ka24de) which i think you can find in the old skool hardbody or something...

and the europians and south africans got the CA18det.

in fact, as far as i remember reading, the japanese had the ca18det in the pignose s13, and only when they gave the car facelift, did the japanese start installing the sr20det into the JDM cars!!!

i wasnt talking about the S14 at all!!!

are you talking about the RB20det with gearbox???

damn if i'd known i seriously would've considered this option!!!
yep..RB20det with gearbox complete!
was def very appealing  ,but ag ya,for now..its CA18 all the way.
if i do keep the car for long then i wil do an engine swop......and the only engine i will take time and money out to fit in is the RB30DET(like i siad..go BIG or go HOME)

ya, well...just think that if im gonna go thru the whole effort of swopping motors, might as well spend the cash ONE TIME!!!right o the top
and the motor wont be created to scream at red or boost 5.0bar...it will be a high powered lazy engine with minimal stress.so ya....wud make a good project engine i recon!

funny enought, not a hugh power diff in terms of KW....but the torque is another story lol!!!
and it all dep on the headwork of course(RB25 or Rb26 head) makes the diff between...."man that was fast!!" and "do u have a clean pair of shorts for me please?"!
at least this time the block is availble locally ,thank god!

no man

get an RB30 motor - i think they're a few grand. like 3-4.

you will get spares for this block too!!! bonus.

then try to get an RB25det head at the importers.

like you said you have to relocate the cambelt tensioners, but i dont think you have to relocate any channels!!!

and its a HUGE torque monster!!!

another option is a toyota 2JZ-gte - 3.0 litre twin turbo - purpose built, not a hybrid!!!
