Ok, in that case, how about then whoever can make it meet up at Shell Ultra City *SOUTH* on the N1 in Midrand, then we drive from there to Sandton City, and then get breakfast? I suggest meeting up at 8am.
YAY!! An event at last

Sorry to pop the bubble guys but if that be the case, were the paddock is in the square or anywhere near the square it will most probably be a hospitality area and by special invite only. please correct me if im wrong.

Yes, looking at the renault roadshow website, it appears the square is not really going to be a place where you can watch the cars - maybe from the back of the square (not sure there's access to that from the square). Would be best to watch it from corner of West and Fredman or somewhere there. Even cnr Rivonia and West, which is walking distance from the McDonalds.

My suggestion is that we meet up in the afternoon for lunch or snacks at the McDonald's. We meet up first at Shell Ultra South on N1 in Midrand at 1pm, drive to McD's off grayston offramp, have lunch or snacks there, and if possible leave our cars there and walk to the public viewing area to check out the F1 cars. It is possible that we may not be able to leave our cars at McD's, in which case we try and park in Sandton City or somewhere else. At least once we are there we can decide how to proceed. If McD's is too full, we could try KFC next door, or else we go to Village Walk or McD's in Rivonia. The F1 cars are on from 3pm to 4pm, according to the programme.
According to the site, these are the parking areas (which are quite far):
Sandown High School
Corner of Rivonia Road and Corlett Drive
Innesfree Park
Cathrine Extension
(below Grayston Drive Bridge)
Wanderers Club
21 North Road
Illovo
Inanda Club
1 Forrest Road
Inanda
Sandton

Drive to Witbank, take N4 Pretoria where the highway splits (other one is N12 to Springs/Benoni), as you get to Pretoria, follow N1 south .just before getting into pretoria. After you pass John Voster offramp, keep left and follow N1 Midrand, pass the Old Johannesburg offramp, keep left and take the offramp to the Shell Ultra City. Stop the clock, Scott!!
