You actually can remove them with an angle grinder, but you normally cant use the retainers anymore, and sometimes the valves..... and sometimes the head...... and sometimes the table it was resting on.....

he does have some finess with angle grinder!!!

but the kind required for removing valves is slightly behind his current skill level. practice makes perfect though!!! although its an expensive game!

Got my engine yesterday... It was ready on friday already but yeah the people couldn't get hold of me.

Some Pics, picked up metal gaskets on Friday... BTW I still have a few sets available R80

Image

Started cleaning up the block last night wanted to build the bottom end but decided not to since I could not find my feeler gauge and I don't have any plasti gauge to check the bearing clearences, so today I'll try source those two tings. "Om te meet is om te weet!"

Image
I was sorting out some crap I inherited from Calibrator... in there was some NOS foggers and millions of other little stuff, but not what I was looking for, my engine mount nuts

Compare left to right... A tooth brush and some degreaser ;)

My bored / decked block

Image
I normally don't check this, but I found this last, this is in the main bearing caps, check the dirt buildup in the bearing slot, that can cause the bearing to sit out of position
