Guys you brased cars, it is standard practice. When fitting new panels it is brased. The heat is lower when brasing and therefore less chance of the body distorting... Also to CO2 weld on 0.7mm plate isnt the easiest...

Thats quite a nice list

if you are doing rods you might as well do bearings as well. change the pumps as well. do it right the first time.

You head head studs...

Change the pumps, dont be scroodge.

Yes you need rings for definate, if not new pistons or a new block and rings...

You dont need a fuel pressure regulator

Most of the flow is in the bottom half of a cooler, make those cheese holes bigger...

That brazing job looks neat. Its a bit difficult to see but did they re-attach the fender lip that they cut off or is it just smooth around the edge now? It looks like the lip is there in the last photo but its hard to tell.

To give you some confidence about brazing or braze welding (brazing uses a thin film between two largeish close areas, braze welding makes a fillet bead like a normal weld.) All original Lotus Seven tube frame chassis are braze welded, and not fusion welded. The bonus is for repair its possible to dissassemble a brazed joint unlike a weld.

There is even a process now known as mig brazing, that uses a mig welder but a filler wire that melts at a low temperature and does not melt the parent material.
