Quik question, i replaced bearings and piston rings and blocks been honed i have been doing some reading and they say that i must drive the motor in 1000miles with semi synthetic oil as it helps the piston rings seat in the block and the full synthetic prevents the rings from seating in the block, How true is this?

Very weird that... maybe just the make. Dunno about that because I bought 1 OEM Nissan Set and 1 other brand and they were exactly the same and the ring gaps also.
Go OEM from Nissan then if you want to be 100% sure...

Find it weird aswell as im sure all std sr20det piston rings are all the same size if so im really stressing as what other option do i have as to take over size piston rings and grind it down to fit is too risky dammm man i dont know what to do

can any body help me locate sr20det piston rings as nissan wants R1400 for a set of piston rings.

Hey guys i have a huge problem concerning piston ring eng gap, the nissan s14 mannual says the top piston ring end gap must be 0,30 to 0,40 now i got a set of GRANT de piston rings and i put the piston rings in the block and pushed it down with a piston to the middle of the block and measured the piston ring end gaP with a feeler gauge and it was 0,45mm iv been doing some reading and they say between 0,017"(0,43mm) and 0,019"(0,48mm) is safe now how true is this? This specs is all for sr20det.
