Re: Coming SOON to a Port near you
The GTS has the same Chassis as the GTR except the GTS has 2 wheel drive and a RB25.
Not talking about cosmetic differences.
I will probably put a RB26 in my R33 eventually.
a Rear wheel drive GTR

Re: Coming SOON to a Port near you
As an owner of a R33 GTR I beg of you PLEASE do not put a GTR badge on a GTSt....
When I imported mine I was categorically advised that the GTSt was not on the list for Import into SA and only the GTR was. I hope my info is incorrect cause the last thing you want is your car here but unable to be registered and eventually impounded.....
Otherwise she looks clean. I owned a series II GTSt (in my time in Aus) and loved it. The RB25 is a pearl if it has been looked after and the bodies tend to be in good nick if they have not been in a smash.

Re: Coming SOON to a Port near you
I phoned the head of ITAC and NRCS regarding the import of a GTS25t and he told me that he can not see a problem of the import. As an owner of a R33 GTR I beg of you PLEASE do not put a GTR badge on a GTSt....

I applied for my permits before the car is here and they where approved.
So with my import permit and my LOA1 I will have no problems registering my car on South African roads.
I understand that if you import it without the proper permits (which I have) then they will impound and crush the car.
I respect the R33 GTR tremendously that is why I got the badge for it.
People must still not underestimate the R33 GTS25t just because it is not a GTR does not mean it is slow.
I want a GTR very badly but go online and check the performance figures out.
Eventually I am going to install a RB26DETT motor in my GTS25t then it will be a bonified rear wheel drive R33 GTR
My next one will be a GTR
I thought about it and don't hate me for this but I am putting the badge on the GTS.
Think about this boys its belongs on a Skyline, maybe not my model.
How many SX owners have GTR badges on their cars?
Be honest now.

Re: Coming SOON to a Port near you
Ek het nie op jou gepik nie FJ, ek bring dit net op omrede almal se ek moenie dit op sit nie.
Think about it this way guys.
Is it going to look good?
Yes
It is a Skyline after all, I know that it is not a factory GTR but it is still going to have plenty of go juice to defend the honor of the "GTR" badge.
It is not slow at all.
I don't know how the GTS feels compared to a S14 so its still going to be new for me.
But as a good friend of mine said "there is no substitute for displacement"
I am going to do light mods to start with just to get the hang of it then I will play with it.
It will earn the right to wear that badge.

And it was hideous! gagged every time I saw it. And on a S14! the worst. A R33 is one thing, at least its a Skyline.

RBSX had one on his S13

A RB26 does not a GTR make

all of this is IMHO of course - Ive done a ton of stupid things I wish Ihadn't
Cant wait to see this car when it gets here! the wait must be unbearable! lol

Re: Coming SOON to a Port near you
+10000000000, the thing is that it will still be a 335 even with the M3 badge and even with the M3 badge people will know its a 335, if i had to see that it would make no sense at all...Daniel wrote:^^^ Ditto!!!
