I think there are no bulletproof motor's unless you run it full built at like a 100kw.breaking motors is part of the game, sure it sucks the hairy left one but i think its school fees.i broke a 26 before and it went in a glorious way,so i feel your pain.as for steve i think he is a ledgend i mean he has built a 1400hp motor and i have seen it run.just my 2c.wish you all the luck in the world mate.
interesting

Im still not sure what im getting where ......
This is a all research at the moment .
As for Bullet proof motors they arent cheap and i think a flight to japan migh be in order ......
I want to fully investigate all the options .
Those bullet proof motors we all speak off are in the region of 25 000usd to 30 000usd for the block and head and sump.
Thats a load of cash infact thats a load of cash fro a high spec motor.
to be frank im looking for power just over standard.
so 350kw maybe a little more is tops.
Bearing mind that if i get a bullet proof motor i still need a clutch and turbos .
hmmmm.......
The think continues any one else know where i can get a second hand nur motoro from ?
Checked on yahoo japan auctions a few motors flying around there some gtr34 motors are as cheap as 2000usd second hand with bad compression would need a rebuild ....
The build begins

Well everyone this is the year that i have to get this thing right.
And well i have manged to organise some turbos .
Just waiting on the clutch system .
And saving for a brand new engine Nur spec that is.
So i will be postin pics of the build and what i do where etc.
Any one have any ideas on engine.
Should i buy a gtr32 engine a play with that maybe put a gtr33 crank etc and see how she runs ?
Maybe even do a rebuild or two and gain some experience to build my own engine ?

Good luck
on this subject again.
I have met Steve Clark a few times after reading this thread and follow his work closely as i am having my Evo motor built by him in the coming months. Rudeboy also had his GTR built by him and is running like a dream at 700hp.
He is one of the few tuners i know that is really going out of his way to servise his customers, so much so he has serious family problems . weekends and public holidays means nothing to him to spend time with the customer travelling far to come fetch a car. i know this from experience when i was with Rudeboy to fetch his GTR. and if any builder/tuner says he will pay for parts and labour to fix a broken motor is talking out of his arse. Its not the way it works . Anyway i think its time to show Steve this thread and get a comment . He does not have time for forums but hopefully he will respond
there is always 2 sides of a story.

Hi Shane,
There is a possibility that his second engine failed because we made a mistake, but I cant say for sure. As far as I am concerned the only error we could have made was missing the bolt during the tightening sequence, however it is almost impossible as we run through the bolts twice every time and if it was loose surely it would have failed while I was testing the car revving to 8000 rpm through all the gears.
I offered to build him a stroker motor, all he had to do was get the car or motor to me and since we were doing forged pistons and rods I asked him to make a contribution towards those parts. I have since built that stroker in another R34 and it makes 480 kw at the wheels and runs perfectly.
I had heard that he was running me down, but never actually believed it, so thanks for enlightening me there.
So far he has broken 3 motors. The standard one, the rebuilt one ( ours ) and an N1 motor from Japan.
He also messed a friend of mine around badly. He let him fly to Harare to look at the car, made a deal and when the guy had all his paperwork and money ready ( a few weeks later ) he reneged on his deal.
Thanks
Steve
