I think rat is fairly confident it IS NOT his disks. Its pretty easy to tell/feel if a disk is warped IMHO.

i would suggest your disk's are badly warpt but first get the car to wheel alignment and get them to have a look at caster and thrust angle
my second thought is try and run through all the suspension and rod bolt/nuts including your steering rack it might simply be a loose nut causing play...
is there any pull to left or right when you let go of the steering wheel?
Yes car has had this for a long time. There is pull to the left. I personally have watched the guys do alignment and everything is in spec.

Did the guys say anything about play in the steering rack when adjusting the toe? What machine did they use for alignment?

Ever had a knock on one of the front wheels? Or even the rear wheels? Thing is they align the front wheels according to the back wheels.

Were all of the ball joints and bolted suspension parts checked for play? Play is much more exagerated at speed than when sitting still. So get them all checked for even the slightest play.

Car has had no knocks, but it does have 221xxx kms on it so there's a good chance bushes or something is worn, good chance that it is the rack.

I have used a John Beam and a Hunter machine

I will go over all the suspension bits this weekend and report back.
