Ek wory net oor die profile want my tyres pas net net voor in so as die profile hoger is gaan dit nie pas nie.

Difference between 205/40/R17 and 225/45/R17 = 19.25mm sidewall difference
Difference between 225/40/R17 and 225/45/R17 = 11.25mm sidewall difference

So you either need extra 19.25mm or 11.25mm.

second number in rating is Aspect ratio or sidewall height as a % of tyre width ie 205mm x 40% = 82mm or 225mm x 45% = 101.25mm

Knowing what does fit (being 18")

(225/40/R18)
(18"x25.4/2) + 90mm = 318.6mm (radius space from centre)
vs
(17"x25.4/2) + 101.25mm = 317.15mm

Considering some of the sidewall is inside the rim lip on both calcs - this has been excluded.
