same, also v2

but mine freaked out with the new software... it started to do a firmware update and then just froze... came back to life and said a critical system error has occurred, and should've been handled internally... and I haven't been able to get it connected since..  i don't know what to do except to carry my desktop to the garage and test it... might work because the USB drivers installed correctly?

mmm I had similar issues... p-ed me off and I stuck the old ecu back... at least that was working... at one stage the car started with the ecu and bikirom but was in limp mode... never got it working... will try this once more when it is running but if it fails again I am really buying nistune... seems like there are no real problems with it at least...

(praying software works...)

1. Download and install the newest Bikisoft. http://bikirom.com/Software.php

2. Install the bikirom into your ECU. http://forum.bikirom.com/viewforum.php? ... 9b79f6806d

3. Plug the bikirom into your computer. You should be prompted for new hardware install. Direct the installer to the USB Drivers folder under the directory where the bikisoft was installed.

4. Make sure the cars ignition is set to on and start the Bikisoft program. Make sure you are WORKING OFFLINE.

5. Do a firmware update right away. It might take a while and you might not even see any progress bars for a bit. But let it work and it should finish. If it takes more than....5 minutes you might have a problem.

6. After the firmware is done(it will let you know in the lower left) load up the correct bas file cooresponding to your ECU. This is very important, make sure you use the correct base file.

7. Now go to adjust-> data streams and select all of the variables to "stream" except the last 3(which arent needed).

8. Make sure you UPLOAD your new settings and map to the bikirom. Once that is done reset the ecu(turn the key off and then back on).

9. Now press F8 or select work online. You should see the TPS, water, ign, and all of the other consult features function. Press the gas pedal to make sure it is reading.

10. Have fun tuning!

- is said to work this way... mmmm

PLEASE let me know if you get it working... I so wish I can get it running properly... I dont care about further upgrades as long as I can tune the engine properly...

I also had a simular problem...I have Mr turbo in...got the software but they use the old 9 pin serial port.....so I got the serial port adapter and installed it....didn't work...so I went back and let the install the right drivers....the cd that came with did not have the right drivers on

Still the Mr turbo and laptop does not want to communicate....it says comm error....I wanted to do the learning thing and also tune on the road.... :x

the funny thing is i have the same problem with the gotech!!!

new laptops dont have the 9 pin serial connector on them, so i organised a USB/serial adapter from work. cheap shit to be honest. never came with drivers, windows XP wants to install drivers, and none of the drivers i found online work properly.

so i called sokar, he has a mecer serial/usb device, and it works in his laptop when he connects to firewalls, routers, switches, etc!

do you think it will work with my laptop - NNNNOOOOO!!!
do you think it will connect successfully with the gotech??? NNNNOOOO!!!

so we try it with his laptop, cos we know that works. so the serial/usb device connects there and everything, but you think it will connect with the gotech??? NNNNOOOOO!!!

@!#%@#$^#$&$%^*%&*( sakes!!!

so i have this ancient laptop in the car - takes 10 minutes to boot up, i think its a pentium II!

anyway - that has an inbuilt 9 pin serial plug, so it has no issues with the gotech, BUT...

it doesnt have a battery at all, just a big hole where the battery should be! so i use a cigarette lighter adapter. but its a mission, cos everytime the car stalls, or is turned off, and i swing the starter, the power dips enough to turn the laptop off - and it takes 10 friggin minutes to start up the laptop again, all this while the car is idling.

all i can say is this - get a management system that connects via USB, and that tuning with the nistune seems to be a breeze as opposed to trying to setup a map from scratch.

all that aside though - we had great success last sorting out the little niggles with the gotech. now its time to get out on the road!
