It originally started with me trying to find why the intake gets so hot with the cold air feed and worked its way to a porting job.

Sorry, I did allot of work and grab the camera late but still have allot to do and will post more pictures latter

I also ported my SR throttle body

Removing the intake heater
-----------------------------------

Well Nissan in all there wisdom built a very nice system that heats the intake very well, Its a Small feed pipe that runs from the Throttle body to the air regulator.

I removed the throttle body heating some time ago, but didn't follow the line's the hole feed pipe bolts onto the underside of the intake heating it as well.

Here are a few pictures of what needed to be removed from the runners to match them to the gasket.

Here is a few more pictures of the items after porting

I'm sure as you all have heard; I will be going SR20DE on the Sentra.

I can get the complete motor, gearbox, harness, AFM, ECU, Cluster, Radiator, Fans, Side shafts, Heater hoses, power steering lines and air-con lines for less then my GA16DE Engine rebuild.

Plus, I have almost already sold the cams and Throttle body of my current motor.

So now let’s see what makes the SR20 so special. I am not easily impressed

I had a little spare time today between the stripping to do a little on the sentra ..

160SE to 200STi\GXI brake conversion
-----------------------------------------------

This was pretty straight forward, here are a few picture comparing the the stock 160 disk and 200 disk

Caliper compare

Interor Swap
----------------------

It took alot of cleanning plus around 5 hour in the sun soaking up leather treatment making the leathe nice and soft again

Image

It took a crap load of work installing the slit rear seats into the sedan and, I still need to resolve issues with bottom half of the rear seat but here is a shot of the interior

More to come later, I think the rear disk swaps going to be a big mission

Mini Update
-------------------

I installed the 200STi\GXI cluster, It took a stripping my old cluster for parts as the original was damaged in the crash.

There is no difference between the 1600 and 2000 recounter the only difference is the setting on the variable resister

Update
-----------
Well to anyone doing the rear disk swap on there car get ready for allot of work

You will need the whole disk brake rear knuckle as the drum version is not the same, You will need new brake lines and the handbrake cable off a 200Sti\Gxi

Picture of both sides stripped
------------------------------------

Image

Image

The 200sti\Gxi have a bigger rear swap bar, 10mm for the normal sentra's and 15mm for the 200Sti\Gxi

Finally Done

I was checking it out yesterday.... Shouldn’t really affect the handbrake at all

Recently, I was taught a lesson on what a 105 Wkw NA car can do to a turbo car.

I am planning a few tricks on the SR20, I might go with SR16VE pistons, might do a SR20VE head swap might only do split cams.

I personally want to go SR16VE pistons and Tomie Pon cams, That’s a 11.3 Comp ratio with great cams and a estimated 14.9 ish 1/4 mile plus having better fuel economy and power

Well, I stripped the intake off the SR20DE last night to check the ports and removed the oil.

All, I can say is this motor has one of the worst intake designs, I have seen, I am no expect, I don’t build intakes for a living but this one is bad.

I thought the GA16DE had bad intake heating but the SR20DE is worse, also the ports don’t even match each other plus there is a huge over hang just before the injector plus sharp turns in the runners to the ports.

Then there the head itself, Like, I said, I am no expert but, I can’t see this head out flowing the CA18DE head.

I’m going to try and do a mild porting to the intake and head before Thursday, time is now the issue but, I can’t leave the intake like this
