Good explanation there.
What it is...when your knob is out the hand brake will stay down or stay up when pulled up.
When the knob is in the hand brake will go down when pulled up thus only locking the rear wheel when it is pulled up.
For drifting it helps a lot to adjust the drift angle or initiate drifts.

ok then mr fancy pants, how do you install this spin knob when the stock knob is moulded to the shaft to the tooth that releases the handbrake, we had this issue on mikes car and couldnt figure out how to install it...

You take the black cover around the HB off. Then halfway down the HB there is a clip that needs to be released, then once that is released the old knob can be taken out and the new one fitted.

not quite right.
the black bit of the button is moulded onto the little shaft.
prove me wrong with an install article with pics!

Remove the spring on this L-shaped rod, put my handbrake boot on, and push the drift knob on top of the old button, so now if i want the handbrake engaged, i pull the button out and if i want it to move freely, i push it in.

Found a short cut. The screw in types require the spring to be released or taken out.
This type, the push in type, does not require that. They are designed to push in over the stock knob. Then when the pulled out the HB is active, and when pushed in the HB is free.
Easy as pie.
