Yeah it wont go to waste. I think there should be enough to do the boot and the bonnet. I might not do the bonnet and do the fire wall, it makes more sence that way.

BTW: remove the passenger kick panel and go for a drive, you will be shocked at how much noise that kick panel stops.

Ok so I fitted the RoadKill last year and it is a real good product, very easy to apply.

I did the entire boot; the wheel well, back of tail lights, pretty much everything you can see when you lift up the boot carpet all the way to the back seat. This took 16 pieces of Roadkill.

The outcome was good I would say. I dont really drive according to the speedo but more to the sound of the car (I know what the car sounds like at 130km/h), once I fitted this I found myself driving at 150-160km/h instead of the usual 130km/h. So that will give you some idea of how much quieter the car has become.

After driving around for 3 weeks I wasnt quite happy with how quiet it was. I had this great idea of how quiet I wanted the car and the Roadkill didnt do it, well not all of it. Dont get me wrong it did help but not as much as I wanted, I suppose it can only do so much.

So I went in search of something else to aid in the soundproofing. Now the carpet in the boot has underfelt underneath it (as standard) and mine was a bit worse for wear so I decided to change it. Got a off cut from a carpet layer for R100. I pulled out the whole boot carpet, off the back of the back seat, traced the shape and cut it out. I simply glued it on the back of the carpet with contact glue and put it back in the car.

This underfelt made more of a difference than the RoadKill did with out a doubt. The rear of the car is so quiet I can only hear the exhaust after 4000rpm.

Gary you need to remember that if you can use more than one layer, the more layers the more the effects.....

The void spaces in the side panels of the boot also gives out alot of sound, use the white whooly stuff they use in office partishening....that helps for the void places...

Yeah Draco but I didnt want to waste the stuff. I used the underfelt, yes the same stuff that is under your carpet at home, and this really worked.

I now have just over a box left and not sure where next to put it.

Ive stuck two layers of that underfelt on my boot floor and it make a moer of a diff ,it dampens the xhaust noice alot. Still will do the sides of the boot sometime. Thinking about doing the rest of the car's floor aswell. Only problem now if got wind noice.

Ja wind noise from the front window rubbers, they only R825 each .

Eina F*k. They still look fine and dont realy leak, maybe a drop or so whiles im in the carwash. Will have to do for now.
