So anyway back to topic. My calipers are steel four pot. The ones on sale are steel four pot. Now the question I have is with regards to the specs as far as does the Z32 calipers present me with a simple upgrade that is going to work and at the same time improve my brakes?!?

no upgrade at all.
the s14 steel calipers are the same as the z32 steel calipers. same design, same size, same brake pads, same brake discs, etc!!!
the z32 aluminium alloy calipers weigh a LOT less, and came in different sizes. basically they took different thickness discs, but the disc diameter is the same all round. you get 26mm and 30mm z32 aluminium calipers.
R32/R33 calipers are same too, unless you're talking about the GTR's (which had brembo calipers). but there were different disc diameter models of the R32/R33 4 pot calipers. some had 280mm discs (GTS models i think) and then some had 296mm discs (GTSt models).
there ya go - some OLD advice for the NOOBS like hanco!

Out of my engineering book and very much simplified so noobs can understand.
You get different kinds of steel.
There is two different kinds of metals known as Ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals.
Under Ferrous metals you get different kinds steels such as Plain carbon steels, cast iron, alloy steels.
The weight difference between these steels are very big since the carbon % determine the weight of the steels.
Thus the compound of certain steels are heavier than others so in basic terms you get heavy steels, medium heavy steels and light steels.

happy!
actually i knew you were going to go down this road...
so have you got a alloy analysis of both calipers for us???
or dont you think it would've made economic sense for nissan to use the SAME caliper in both cars???
