Well said nurseboy , it does not help you put in a R1000 made in durban carbon fiber indused titanium based reinforced gold clutch plate but you pressure plate can't keep the clutch against the flywheel....
VC you can increase the clapping force by going with a 4 puk instead of a 6 puk.
Um....thats great Gary, you are going with a great clutch plate but what keeps it on the flywheel......whats gonna happen when the force gets to much.....

If you go with a 4 puk clutch you will have more clapping pressure than if you went with a 6 puk, thats all. You dont have to upgrade the pressure plate to ensure the clutch grips.

again - none of you panzy's are reading what i am writing!

i said that the amount friction will increase with the copper clutch plate.

i said that the clamping force of the pressure plate wont increase because you are not changing your pressure plate.

what gary is saying is that with the 4 puck clutch plate the clamping force will increase - this is an easy deduction. the 4 puck clutch has much less of a surface area, so the amount of pressure will increase.

my main point was that although the clutch plate mod will increase the load that the clutch can handle (making it MUCH better than stock), the best way would be to change the pressure plate too. this would make it MUCH MUCH better than stock!

Again....no one is reading my posts.....lets all start crying

What you want to do gary is right, no probs, but at some stage the pressure plate will not cope with the power, the clutch will start shuddering alot more on pull away because the easiest whay for the power to be ubsorbed is by pushing back on the pressure plate.....as nurseboy said, it is better to do the pressure plate aswell.....it also minimises shuddering on normal driving.
