Hey Draco
You had problems with your gearbox...
Where did you get it sorted out and how much did it cost...
What was wrong with yours and what parts needed to be replaced?

It didn't want to go into 5th gear, the gear was replaced and something else can't remember what, the guy asked me R1800 to take the gearbox out, fix the problem and put it back in.
The place is called gearbox4u in Gezina PTA....

I think Ive been driving on 4th gear for a few good months!!!!
Do you have a contact person as well, the problem is exactly like mine , 5th gear just wont catch or go in....

Did you guys consider the weight of the gas in your completely full tanks when trying to figure out what is going on?
Anyway, I can typically get more kilometers per hour when my tank is half full as well. We all have to remember that our stock gas tank is at the very back of the vehicle. The last time I checked I was able to get 418km on a full tank of gas. Then again that was about six months ago and I have not really had to put more gas in the car due to me not driving it very much.
I am not sure what the driving habits are for most drivers there in SA, however here in the states a lot of people put there cars in neutral when either going down a hill, waiting at a traffic light, or coming to a stop.

Putting in neutral (coasting) won't help you save fuel. If you leave it in gear & just take your foot of the accelerator that will save you fuel, as the car has a throttle position sensor that tells the injectors to cut some fuel. How much I'm not sure, but I have seen this in the manual.
Putting in neural while standing at a robot (traffic light) will help save the thrust bearing a little.
with your tank half full the car is about 30kg lighter. It should make a difference but how noticable that is....er I don't think by much. I did not notice abit of a performance difference when I had about 10litres of fuel left. (reserve) in the tank....about 0.001 sec quicker then normal

I must drive like an absolute granny as I average 520-550km per tank
I put in about 52 litres every time I full up.

nah dude, i get about the same mileage, usually about 10l per 100km's. perhaps only slightly less if i rush around.
only slightly less than that on wednesdays when i used to go drifting!

Ok i've driven my car to the yellow empty line(the needle is more or less in the middle of that yellow line...) and i've done about 350km...
Thats not right! what can I do??

In the last while I'm getting the same, I think they screwed up the petrol or something. I'm not even driving like I'm on fire anymore.

I must admit i do drive the car hard now and then... but i mean this is killer!
I'll check what happens after i get the car dyno'd next month.
The overfeuling because of the BOV may also cause a problem, right?

I am starting to think it may be the petrol, after posting here and a new tank of petrol my petrol use went back to normal, I think they sell us 93 octane when the 95 is up....

When you go fill up I think you will only need to put in about 52 Litres. I think I should fill up at a different garage to see what consumption I am getting then.
I just wish there was a quick easy way to test the octane level, I dont get angry easily but you will see me kak out a filling station owner if I see them selling me 93 instead of 95

What is the highest octane that is sold in SA? Here in the states most places sell 93 octane. A few sell 100+ octane.
