Its for real!

OOoh forgot to answer the drive train question...

To up your rev range you have to strengthen your drive train, thats uprated springs (Tomei items or some double valve springs) and decent strengthened stainless steel valves... Not forgetting cams, when going over a certain degree its important to change your hydrolic lifters to solid lifters... all the above is hugely expensive... and its not necessary to do for the power I'm aiming for

300whp isn't huge, but I want my torque band to be very wide and thus have power available over the rev range...

Yes change all those parts without cam change and you can easily see 7500rpm max power :D , wicked. You can get 300whp reliable with STD internals not prob, some of my mates in AUS have theres at 250RwKw/335WHp and they run great.

Whats the cost of this motor rebuild including all the accessories??

Umm so far R10K+ the expensive stuff was the pistons at R4K... I'll do a complete cost after I'm done don't want to scare my self yet... but then again, I didn't buy all the parts in two months, some of it I bought back in January like the clutch brakes and so forth.

When i 1st got my car the plan was to atleast fix/replace/upgrade at least 1 thing every month so that eventually id have a sorted car :D

I've been going backwards, severely under estimated the cost of running the car

Your car is turning out great though Vlade. Awesome stuff

Brakes going Z32 brakes with DBA 4000 rotors... Cost for that was like R6K... Calipers was R2500 rotors R3500

Can't comment on the clutch just yet, but I mentioned in another post that I drove my buddies (Slade's) car that had a 2ltr with a solid plate and it was very very drivable.

You know what I had the car for 2 years now, every thing broke that can break... So yeah it was a mater of replacing this and replacing that and now its starting to become very stable.

Calipers I got from a buddy in Aus and rotors I sourced from PowerBrake they where too expensive for me to import by air mail so I left it with PowerBrake... Never want to send stuff by ship again... its way way to nerve racking...

@Phinx it does look like one have to move the ABS, will have to see...

By air mail its cool 7-21 days that you wait... by ship any thing from 4-10 weeks... and some of the parcels you can't track... then for 6 weeks you freaking wonder where the thing is?

Long time no update, wanted to update earlier the week but I have been bit busy (and not with the car)

Lets get it on...

Image
These are stock CA18DET rods, they are good enough for the job ahead, remember durability not power!

Image
The CP Pistons all ringed up, one of them are already in the engine :D

Image
Bottom end is now finished, will finish the rest of the engine the weekend

Image
Also getting these made... They are solid rear subframe bushes... 6 more of these are needed, Slade's cuzzie is is making these for me... I did mention its gonna be a drift car

Well I'll update next week again or the weekend, there is a crap load of work ahead, all still on schedule (sorta). The weekend I plan to rip my current engine and also drop the front and rear sub frames.

Those solid rear bushes make the ride shit ass hard, I had them befor I changed to Whiteline. You should get High density poly-utherane bushes made.

Enough to get me 300whp... but that is for the future...

Wanted to get Whiteline items, but they where more expensive then getting those made...

I'll look at some whiteline tension bars in the future... or maybe my own ones I'll see... 8)
