going back to the dump valve issue, what difference would moving the AFM from the filter side to directly on the intake by the throttle body. would this help with running rich. might be dumb question, but not really sure on this as i quite like the dumping sound.

The AFM measures air flow by measuring the resistance across the fin wire in the AFM. This wire is heated, so the cold air rushing in cools it. Generally the ait just before the throttle body will be warmer, and compressed, and only flowing when the throttle body is open. Would love to see somebody map that ecu.
But is sounds like a good idea, only measuring what actually goes into the engine, but I don't think the AFM will quite do that job. So try it, it may just work. I once drove promp Pta north to Sandton with the bof venting outside..... but the idle was jerky and too low, died a few times in the traffic.

thats why most tuners use MAP sensors alone, or in conjunction with MAF sensors!!!
"promp" and "bof" - these are interesting terms, what exactly do they mean though???
and low and jerky idle seems to be going around with the sx's!!! just throw all that rebreather crap off!!! its old now, and i wouldn't be surprised if there are blocked hoses, cracked hoses, and broken electronics (like solenoids) in our 15 year old beasts!!!
