haha good story
and thanks for the detailed info, thats another push in the right direction for me
and yea 4 cyl rb motor:)

would you say if similarly built the ca will always need more revs to keep the power on the the sr?i understand that the heads are designed quite differently but can the extra 200cc really help a lot to?
the free revving ca is always nice though but does feel a little sloppy down low

also @draco, how has it been for you sourcing parts here for your CA, you've had yours for a while so im sure over the years you must have changed quite a few things?
online it also seems like some CA items can be more expensive then sr ones..

Hey D, sorry for the post jacking, just gonna answer N quick then done :-)

Hey Nirvash, ye man, to me the extra 200cc does make quite a diffirence stock vs stock. CA has alot of lag low down, stock T25 came in at 3000 to 3500 where my SR starts to boost at 2000 and boost is full up at 2500 to 3000 already with T28. Both journal bearing turbos. SR spools a turbo like a champion, CA u feel the boost come in very suddely and can scare the crap out of anyone who is not expecting it

Ur choice end of day, both have ups and downs but both great if done right.

Mike out

 Hey buddy, I can not disagree with anything you said...except for one thing, the CA head can not handle 9000rpm especially if you run high boost, at around 1 bar I am sure it may handle 8000rpm's at most for a limited time, boost more and you might get valve floating at around 7500rpm, which I did.

I nice set of valve springs sorts that.

As for you screeming like a girl  never, you were just constipated because of the food

I'd love to have that video one day, it still looked slow to me, want to analyze it :D

Thanks for the support guys!!! Wish my wife was as supportive [smilie=200sx_2guns.gif]

@ Nirvash, it may be that some parts are cheaper for the SR, but in general, the most parts for SR and CA are very simularly priced, I have not really struggled and said the SR would have been a cheaper thing, what is true is there is a slight bigger range of parts availible for the SR.

If you have some cash, you can get all you need for the CA, whether you have an SR or a CA, if you not hooked up with cash, good performance parts will be a headache.

Also, most general parts for the CA is availible locally, as with the SR, brand names for performance for both is not hugely availible locally.

Last weekend I went to Darryl to fetch some stuff I baught(thanks buddy) on the way there, about a km away from him the car went down on 2 cylinders, stopped and had a look and all seemed ok so I assumed it was plugs, got to Darryl and removed the plugs, nr 3 and 4 was wet and dark, thought it was fuel at that stage and also found that the ground starp is touching the spark point, opened the gaps but could not gap it proparly as neither him or I had a feuler guage at that moment, installed it and walla she was running again.

On the way home had some issues here and there as if I'm loosing spark but got home, removed the polugs and 3 and 4 was dark and wet, gapped the plugs 0.2 more than I usally do and put them in and leaned out my idling values, the spak gap made a huge diffs, it was now idling at 13-15 afr.

I thought it was because of the heavy fuelling at the bottom that fowled the plugs, this weekend I took her for a drive on the highway to do some data logging to tune and set boost right, I saw a huge difference in afr, it was way leaner on top that it was before, I assume that is because of the spark gap.

So took it slow to the next offramp and stopped under the bridge to increase feuling on top, pullled away and there was a hell of a diffs, got onto the highway and gave it soem stick and suddenly I lost spark again and then the white smoke came, she was running good but white smoke everywhere, parked at the R21 garage and opened the hood, checked whether everything looked ok, took off oil cap to see whether oil and water was mixing and did not see signes of that.

Drove her home casually, got home, let her idle for a bit and then switched off to start checking, first was the turbo, felt the play on the compressor and it felt ok, then did compression and it was the same as last time, all 4 was low(as usual) but all the same, just 4 that was a bit lower but not heavely so, the plugs, 3 and 4 was wet and this time it made sense, it was fowled by oil, I assume the HG is not stopping oil into the chambers....this is why I believe....

Saw this, so I ordered a copper gasget from a company, after struggling to get him the info on the gasket he said it will be done in a day or 2, waited a week and did not hear from him so I decided to do this....
Clayville-20121220-00238.jpg
Because the 2 outer layers of the cometic HG was damaged and the copper gasget was unresponsive, I decided to separate the 2 thinner layers of the gasget and use only the 1mm S/S middle part... it worked till now...I believe it's sealeing everything except the oil that is getting into nr 3 and 4 chamber, seems I have to go and get the copper one...

The head was not off since Vlades rebuild, when I took it off because of the valve damage I saw the damage on the gasget and used only the middle part...

Sorry to see bud! This is exactly what happened to be which caused me to start with my build!

Let me know what exactly you need to get the car back on the road, i got a looooad of parts including a set of pistons and rods in very good condition from a import motor. :D
