Hey Chem!

Just read your whole thread! Damn man!
You went through all this and you still prevailed! Nice!

Oh and I'm glad your love for the SX is restored again!

Just one more thing... are you running the t28 now? what mods do you need to bolt it to the standard ca18? Oh and is it possible to run it of the stock ecu?

Sorry for all the questions

Cheers Riekert

Thanks, Riekert.
No problems.
Yes it is about a t28. Bolt on std No issues with that. .64 exh housing. Stock ecu is fine with it, altho I use a unichip.

Riekert, I like to stress that I always had the assistance of one or two of the club members with me, while the rebuild was on. Thanks to them again.
Here are some pics of the engine bay, just after the modification done on all idle control pipies removed,

Do u have dual w/m injectors there Chem 8) ? If they are both w/m injectors, what is the purpose of spreading them out like that? Like having one by the turbo and one by the throttle body?

Love the look of your engine bay with all the red piping btw :)

I think it cools the air at the turbo and then just before the intake thus forcing in more air?

Yes, it is dual. The one close to the turbo is a bigger nozzle, and the nozzle close to the tb is smaller in spray pattern. Keep in mind I don't use fmic, When you use fmic, this dual set up would be unnecessary. One nozzle would then be fine.
The choice of nozzle sizes in this set up is paramount. To prevent quenching: In my case the bigger nozzle is 225 ml/min and tb nozzlle 60 ml/min.

I still need to replace the tb nozzle down to 60 ml/min. Currently running a 175ml/min, which I get the gut feeling is slightly to big.

A possibility is then to reduce the pump pressure, but I dont like that.

So, would I be correct in saying that the dual setup is to prevent the temperature dropping too rapidly and having adverse effects on the metal piping?

And then with an intercooler this isn't needed as the temperature has been lowered some what by the intercooler before hand.

So it would be a wise choice to go for fmic and w/m?

w/m and an intercooler do the same thing (well in terms of cooling the intake charge that is) and the effects will compound. So, ya I'd say its a good idea. But as Chem  has shown u don't necessarily hava to have an intercooler. w/m could do the job just fine if need be.

You have missed something important about w/m, which fmic cant do? To cool the combustion and up the octane, thereby allowing the timing to be advanced and prevent detonation.

Ya, thats the big advantage of a w\m system. I guess I shld have mentioned that.
