Well let me tell you, I have done it, those things only have a top spead of around 140km/h, but they pick up speed very quick, granted my car is not tuned and ready but I saw it's ass till end 2nd before I started running by it, it surprized me and over a short distance it is fast, didn't launch, maybe that would make a diff...people that think the big cc ones are slow need to try it over around 200m.

i thought you had SR
In my last 1km run on a drag strip, I broke at around 800m's, started to break and so on, I crossed the 1km at 165km/h in 25.5 seconds, the closest SR( I was in that class, raced mostly against SR's) did 25.8 sec over the 1KM at a speed of 211km/h.
Would an SR make a diff?

Well done Draco, keep it up! the cab is strong!!!!! When are you heading for the tracks again?
I really would like to know the logic behind some people. They support the 4age motor which is a 1600, yet they dont like the ca motors and pretend that they are weak or that the Sr is so much supperior, its only a 200cc dif, and the head design does count in favour of the ca instead of the sr.
History lesson: When a certain turbo's, nitros fed bakkie running a 4age with a 1800 sub, 2L crank had the records on slicks, a certain little ca18det nailed it with street tyres and turbo alone running 1.5 bar booooost!....(This was doen twice on the same day)but ALAS the keyboard racer logic....hehe
Cant wait for my ca to be running!

im still fighting with myself now because i strongly feel like the CA18 is perfectly capable for what i want, and would like to keep it almost just to prove a point on it, but am equally as tempted to go sr mostly because of part option and availability (and starting with a "fresh" import engine instead of rebuilding mine)
anyway keep it up draco

I would like to fight in defence of both CA and SR.
My CA held up 1.1 bar on stock internals for the 3 months i had it, every day driving the kak out of it, then I wanted more so I went SR.
Lets firstly say, yes SR low down torque compleatly out does CA stock vs. Stock. So ye I love the swop. I would have fully built my CA by this time though if I had just built it and would have cost me less than I have already put out and i would have been fully forged with high rev kit. I mean, look at what is possible, Mobness proved over 700whp on his CA18.
My SR though, I have drifter pretty hard and not a flinch on internals. . . Beautiful motor, much more torque low down and linear as the shape of my nuts. . . So not too dissapointed in my desision at all. . . Alot of fun to work on too. . . Revo Golf and Audi TT ate my ass untill I got scared of speed traps and slowed down (no physical proof though), R33 GTS ate my ass on dyno, opc and gtc no problem, Focus ST have ate my ass plenty, 350Z also atw my ass on dyno (just just but still). . . To be continued, wife gonna beat my ass coz we late. . .

. . . Continued. . . And that all before the current upgrades which will take it fromm 168 to +/- 210 wheel kw. . .
The CA though, was one of the only cars who's ass I ended up eating. . . CA can also do over 1.2 bar on stock sleves where SR needs to be upgraded at latest1.2 bar.
You just need to build a CA right and it can be way better than an SR off the same budget. 8 port swop and cams gives crap loads more low end torque than SR, pluss if you can get the bottom end to hold up, the stock CA head can handle upto 9000rpm +/- withought any changes. With correct high performance bearings, crank balancing and slight knife edging she will rev up there reliably with no hassles.
So ye, a well built CA is a helava impresive motor. Especially when the head doesnt starve or flood with oil, better oil pump and upgraded oil return sorts that though.
Remember that they call it a Baby RB for a reason. . . .
O and yes, I have driven in Draco's SX and have a video which the world will probably never see due to me screaming lile a little girl. . . The thing is scary as hell!!!!!
