Definately, just gonna take some time, i've been murdering that motor for roughly 2 years now and the whole time it was parts around the motor that failed, not the motor, I believe that this motor can power me into the low 13's maybe even less with semis and for a moderate built CA I feel thats an accomplishment!!! If I can prove it on paper some day...

Some footage of my 1km run, notice no launch, slow off the start....then moments of glory...then the video stops

See the smoke also....indicating a problem was there already...

Ai Derek! Car looks good though. Hope you get it running soon.
If you need anything let me know, I have a few head spares...of course I'm not sure exactly whats useable and whats not.

Thanks Daniel, I did a blow by test this weekend as suggested by Charl, did not have a compressor so I used a vacuum cleaner and a small tyre compressor, not the right way but at least it seems like the piston and rings are good, I get abselutely no pressure or vacuum out of the dipstick, so it looks like it is head related but will have to be confirmed with a proper compressor...prelimenary test...good!!!

Started...very slowly....the main thing is I know I need to buy a new set of injectors to be safe...and that will happen much later in the year, so I am not very motivated at the moment.

At nismo mania 2 when my car broke, the tower told me my speed over 400m was 189km/h, I and others doubted that because that is sereously fast over 1/4 mile, after watching the video over and over, slowing it down and amplifying the sound on earphones, I am in no doubt anymore, the tower was right, I did 189km/h as I crossed the 1/4 mile according to the announcement as I crossed.
I so hope I can hang on to her and fix her up, I don't know why but I feel I have something to prove with the little CA....

15. something, at ODI they can not give you an acurate 1/4 mile time if you run a 1km sprint, they add your 1/4 mile time and reaction time together on a 1km sprint, if they set up for a 1/4 mile, your reaction time does not get added, concidering I did not launch and reaction time was added to the 1/4 mile time because this was a 1km sprint, how much time I lost because of the launch and reaction time I don't know....
It was my first run so I took it very easy on the start just to get the feel.

Nice! you will get nice numbers with the Ca, I dont know if you have read some of my other posts by my friends dad did 204km/h over the 400m and 245km/h over the 800m using a STOCK CA18det with his custom turbo setup and all.
Try keeping her if you can

189km/h is goood

I saw that, the power to weight ratio of a gx/bakkie and a S13 are very different though, so if he did a 204km/h with a 500hp gx it's gonna take alot more for me to get to 200km/h on the 1/4 mile, he must have had a 11-12 sec 1/4 mile if not less, thats where I'd loose a bit, even if I made 500hp the weight would slow me down.
A guy can only hope, if all works out, I can not wait to see what she does on the 1/4 mile and even the 1km when/if I still have her and get her up and running.
