Well Derek, at one stage in the past, your sx engine repair did not go the correct route it was supposed to go. It was sad, but you accepted the situation. If I was ever guilty, then it all happened to me with the current situation on the rebuild. But then I accepted, and are now even more exited than ever that this time around we are going to win my rebuild. I have kind friends around on this forum.

Great. Great. Cool.

I got the crank back Vlade. Only polished. Awaiting bearings and off we go.
And head is fine and fine.
Three lifters also prepared, let us see if we can win the 16 year old crap out of them.

See you soon Vlade, will arrange however.

Thanks to all. Thanks Toby and Barend. By now we know the ca18 in wards outwards backwards closed eyes :D :D
Reciprocation in the highest gear this past weekend.
Yes, 250 kilos on the clock :D Went to Bronkhorstspruit and back. Smooth engine. No noisy lifters. 8) 8) 8) 8)
Although today I think I hear the cam belt either catching or rather to be to stiff.(all of a sudden?).
BUT BUT, BUT, THE SX IS STILL NOT IDLING!!! Nice hey, very very nice.
Come on gentlemen, tell me what is wrong. Tell me something to try that I did not try before to rectify this non idling situation.

No marbles, no krrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... nada, nothing.

(I said, my sx will run, and someone else,,,, still cant .Let me rather leave it)

400 kilos. Engine nice , smooth.
BUT, oil leak=severe., Either front crankshaft or cam seals????

I HATE OIL LEAKS!

Chem

Spent close to the whole day on the s13. The oil leak, was the front cranckshaft seal. Why? Paid schoolfees again=prepare the oil seals properly. Read the manual, use oil to wet the new seals and not greese
Then I bought Shalack?? And smeared that on the outside of the seal. I replaced the camshaft seals as well for the second time, although they were not leaking oil.
Then I re-aligned the bell housing to the engine properly without ending with any mm gaps. That rectified my severe clutch shudder.   8) 8) 8) 8)
Replaced the oil. Car now on 900 kilo's. Yes, there is one stupid lifter dancing
OK, sx still not idling, but can definitely feel the engine becoming loose.
Then early in 2008, we will look into the unichip unknown, to see if that may be courses the idling problem. The sx overfeuls madly???  Or still choking to death-what ever?

In short, I learned a LOT 8) 8) 8)
And I just love that.
