Thanks Vlade for correcting me on the oil filler cap, yea the valve cover cap is correct. Thanks for reporting on my behalf as well. because me not up to standard with all those technical stuff.
I really see this situation as temporarily. We will get out of that, even if I have to restart the whole lot.
If we can get the engine to idle, will be a major advantage of cause

IN THE MEAN TIME
Yes, thank you. Forget about me. That is fine. me count for nothing! Chem
Ok, I have opened the old engine down to the head and block.
Eventually I want to establish the cause of the marble rumble once tapped of on throttle. But before we get there. I want to you all to participate in a small interesting competition that I am setting up here.
Everybody can enter, EXCEPT Draco. And dont call him!!!!
The question is: why on earth is the carbon building on the pistons busy to dissappear? Carbon building of about 16 years I would say? Look the top pistons can be blown clean, cause the carbon is so soft and crackly
Look how the lower piston down low in the cylinder starts to get cleaned from the side inwards.
Look at the inlet manifold. Is that a clean port???
Lastly then, (and here is a hint for you:) can someone out there spot any rust perhaps
Of course I dont want to be an asshole, but my rebuild engine did not look the same. Carbon builed up was so heavy, I struggled to remove it with parrafin and brushes
So here we go:

Ok, these following two pics are out of the eqation. We got the answer here:
Just simple aaarcg, sies, dirty.

I suppose it can like to be your water/meth injection thats keeping it clean and breaking the carbon up.....ChemCool wrote:The question is: why on earth is the carbon building on the pistons busy to dissappear? Sokar, now I need to establish the courses of that marble rumble sound in this engin. With the rebuilt that noise is there again.
Need to learn from this engine. If possible, need to get all y members together to assist me in identifying this noise. Only becuase we all differ so easily on these type of things, and not to use it to proof one another wrong.

thats disgusting toby. go get a pool chorine tablet, break it up and dissolve it in water. make sure you're wearing gloves and a mask and possibly goggles and long sleeves, and then clean your bathroom. go sleep in another house for a week while the poisonous chlorine gasses escape from your house!!! oh ja - that is not SX related!!!Toby wrote:Geez those pistons look like my bathroom ceiling

and its not fair - one day, one friggin day, i'm totally busy and i miss the opportunity to give such a simple answer!!! of course it was going to be the meth/water... specially with draco and chemcool talking so much poo about detonation and rust!!!
dammit sokar - i want you to share your beer with me!!!
and chemcool - can you guess what i am thinking??? cos i am thinking it in my head. its an idea and it is growing in my brain...

other than detonation, what sounds like rattling marbles??? (thats a big hint?)
