Few small glitches
Getting the car ready for dyno. Got her on the ground did a maiden voyage to the front gate!
Sadly the clutch won't release 100%

So box out. Clutch out, flywheel off and inspect.
The culprit .... Small piece if 2mm welding wire filler rod, jammed between the second clutch plate and the pressure release plate......how did that get in there and where did it come from ;)
As a result the clutch was dragging and not freeing up 100%

Tomorrow I'll get everything back in.

Another glitch. It seems with all the cranking while figuring out the ecu and trigger angle gremlins,
It put a strain on the starter which subsequently gave me the middle finger... Can only get the starter reconed next week .....
Ya. The joys.

So with the down time. I decided to finish the last of the body work. I had no joy in finding fiberglass fenders
SO next best thing .... Do it myself.

The back and front arches needed more clearance due to the drift works suspension being so low.
Finally I'm nearly done witH this. Finish prepping and welding over weekend
Once I have them welded and complete for correct tyre offset and clearance. I'll make make my own molds from fiberglass

Happy days

As u can see the inner skin had clearance issue
Bearing in mind that the rear coil over is currently at its maximum height. From here it can only go lower!!!
Image
Image

I bought set of gold Gti mk2 front fenders for the lip
I'll cut out the top half to use as the filler plate
Image

Filler plate
Will be welded to outer shell and the trimmed flush with body
Flared lip then to be welded onto outer fender

Image
Image

The bastard little fuxxer that caused clutch issue......
Image

After its been cut out
New clearance 50mm
Image
Off the ground obviously
Image

Need to fill in gap between inner skin and outer fender

Like so

Seems Santa did leave me something after all
Unexpectedly

I discovered something this morning after searching the LS1 tech forum in the USA For my engine serial numbers

The guy I bought the motor from, sold it to me as a ls1
But after putting in the block number, intake manifold number, injector number, and heads numbers, through the forum and GM manufacture website
It turns out I have a LS6...... Not an Ls1

Ls6 are newer motors,
Better cam, better heads, better intake flow and stronger block
Displacement still however remains the same at 5.7
According to theory all this shoud make for additional 60 hp

Also, ls1 and ls6 components are 100 % interchangeable interesting

So ya bit of a score I'm not complaining!

New rear fenders
Clearance is spot on now
I can now lower the rear instead of having the coil overs on their max limit

twin 76mm pipes, only 1,2 meters long, with turn down to raod surface, no mufflers
its gonna be pretty loud, but more noise is better i say
After all. too much is just enough

I found on my s13. When I took the exhaust out and left it under the car it was so loud in the car.. All the noise bounced around in the gearbox tunnel. So I had to angle it to face out the side to keep it quiet in the car
