A boing 747 makes about 140db's take or leave a few......

Yes but 110dB is a LONG way away from 140dB - don't forget it's logarithmic. Every 10db is about twice the loudness, and every 3dB is about how much you would turn up the volume if you wanted it louder a "knotch". 120dB is supposedly the threshold of pain, altho these days I see people sitting in cars with music playing louder than that!

First time I was at tarlton I used my tripod and camera to access the gate right on the start line. I was busy panning and framing when the guys like seargent mike were busy with their thing. I didn't notice everyone standing there were pressing their fingers in their ears until it was too late.
