Yea Vlade I should have. At the time, quite a few guys had stock ECU's for sale and I wasn't ready to buy until my car was running again. Now that it's running, noone seems to have the spare ECU's anymore

No matter, I can always just flash my new EEPROM with the standard map file and stick that into my ECU.

And Phinx is taking my ECU with the daughter board. In a few months a stock ECU will be rather pricey I see.

i still dont see that they can be that much!
a quick on NZ found me a ca18 ecu for $100, and a complete harness and ecu for $250.
if i was living there and earning NZ dollars - then it would nly cost me 100 bucks!
but i guess it all depends on supply and demand!

Ja but do the earn what you earn in $, meaning if you earn R5000 do they earn $5000 (its just an example).

i'm not getting into an argument about buying power of various currency's, i'm merely saying that i think the costs at the moment are a bit high for some of these used parts!

What does a new one cost? Somewhere between 4 and 8k if I suck my thumb. R1000 is closer to a fair price and still dirt cheap compared to a new one.
