When we get our dyno in an if the club wants to gather some cash to sponsor dyno time I'd love to experiment this.

The most important thing to remember though is every car is different and where it may benefit some cars, it would detract from others. It all depends on current condition and issues (ie. Leaking wmic), these are old cars after all.

I'm also basing the above factor on merely just installing a fmic.

Also remember boost is slightly increased when you install a fairly larger ic so power is affected.

And just to correct you, a FMIC does not gain or lose on power, it gains or loses on response, which in short means that it will either cause more or less lag, more or less air density.....

in fact, if you have a FMIC same size as the std one and your plumbing has the same flow rate and total capacity, it will give you better performance (Meaning response) than the original one in the original position due to better cooling, thus allowing you to access more of the possible power that is already available, more efficiently...... Kind of like the difference between driving on a cold day vs a hot day.....

When you have a larger FMIC there is more cooling adding a higher air density, allowing you to access more power, but at the same time what your actually feeling is not loss in power, but loss in response, delayed boost due to compression time.

So no, no loss or gain power wise, but yes there can be loss or gain in response time. Less or more lag.
do a step by step byno you will know~ i have done it before... SR ECU is just too clever to temp with... it retard the timing it self... more cooling = more fuel...

Guys i need to know the best FMIC for my CA i mean in size but I will in the near future upgrade my Turbo to a Garrett GT2871R ?
And I am thinking of doing the install myself as a little project.
:)

it correct... we tested like 10~ S15 in stock form that time 2002... the power reading on stock SR have something like 9kw different between the cars... and when the car is new it usually feel less powerful

normal one 600X300X75 would be just fine for 500hp which cost around R5000 a kit
