You can't buy a car that's already in SA You gonna get shit these cars have to be brought in by the person buying them and if someone is selling a vehicle that was brought in as a collectors item they cant sell it within 2 years

(make sure its been here that long)

the other-way is to buy it from Botswana or Swazi but getting permits for those vehicle's are not that easy to get

Guys, be very careful. I am also thinking about getting an import..but a simple google search on SA sites reveal some sad stories. Not saying it cant be done...just do your homework.

Unscrupulous dealers in South Africa are acquiring these vehicles and importing them into the country on the pretext that these vehicles are in transit and destined for neighbouring countries that do not prohibit the importation of second-hand vehicles. These vehicles either do not leave the country or leave for a neighbouring country, get registered there and thereafter return to South Africa. These vehicles are then registered in South Africa and sold to unsuspecting buyers.

Just do it Yourself its not that hard getting all those docs and permits

its very easy to get a car licenced in SA ,this country is corrupt enough. BUT remember if the car is locally registerd does stil not mean its legally here in SA.there are custom taxes with SARS and all that to be paid.remember SARS are the guys that rock up at your house to come and take off your lekker import and crush it ,u cant take shit off the car.and then they question u as to the history of the car. SO is it worth it to loose your hard earned money( or your dads lol) u decide. Just do the reserch as th the requirements and knwo wat u getting yourself into.before u take that leap and get burned.Maybe the laws have changed and u are allowed to bring in but if not how are these guys getting these forbidden porn on wheels here .do the rules change for certain people ? can any one shed some light on the requierments , I have some idea but lets see what others say?

first of all i agree with andre and superbaas' comments, do it yourself, do your homework, and do it 100% legit and hard, havent done it bone from what i know it definitly can be done right, as said it can be done

about the s15, im quite sure you cant LEGALLY register one here under normal collectors item or "normal people" circumstances, has to be a race car, imigrants, etc.

but like ljs14 said we should get a step by step "guide" sometime in the near future :D

by the way, when is that andre_sx changing to andre_GTR?
