i dont think so hey new techno has taken over
just put up a add and ask for one like i say pm riekert he can get you a t25g which is a better version than the std t25 it has the same size exhaust but it has a larger compressor side so flows more
i make 140kw with that turbo at 0.9bar boost with basic bolt on's and std ecu

Thank you for all the advice, I will then have to start shopping so I can give the GTI's a hiding again. The garrett I overhauled uses bushes.

I've got a T25 for you. came of a stock CA with 110k kms on, seems pretty good still. no shaft play that i could feel and spins freely.
R1200 and you can take it!

Hi Guys, I found someone in Pretoria that sells a T28 Garrett for R3900- and apparently only the downpipe should change (Downpipe = R140-)
It is'nt a ball bearing turbo though....
Does the pricing sound right or could you direct me to any other sellers?
Regards,
Arno.

Well if it's new and you base the price on the Autostyle turbo you were looking at, I'd say its good. I'm only really aware of price in the UK and they sell for £150 second hand.
You don't need to replace the elbow, you just have to widen one or two of the bolt holes with a round file/dril bit. I've done it before and is a much cheaper option with no detremental effects. Also remember to widen the gasket's hole...I just widened all of the holes so that I didn't have to fettle with that and I could concentrate on the elbow.
Just remember you will have to run the boost lower of running standard parts and standard ecu

Well I talked to nirvash (previous owner of the engine) and he said there was no smoke that he knew of.
I didn't test the turbo myself as I had a GT28 that I put on the engine.
Shipping shouldn't be a problem though.

I'm running aftermarket feul management with stock internals.
Thanx for advice.

Yeah then all you will need to do is adjust accordingly. You will notice a big difference between the t25 and t28 and if you can afford it...do it!
