I have a workshop in Cape Town. So nothing is really an issue. I just want to try and get purpose built parts for the car , for neatness , purpose and reliability.

According to the guys in the Uk, only mods needed are , cone filter , larger diameter exhaust and raise boost to 1 bar.
This is part of the ad:
STAGE 1 (you will need)
Standard injectors,Free flow air filter, free flow exhuast.
YOU WILL GET 250 bhp at 15 psi boost.................
They say that it will be reliable . I am not going to drag with car anyway . I drive respectably , it is only when a VW driver or the like thinks that they can beat me robot to robot.
Silly buggers !!

am looking for an intercooler with plumbing specifically for the CA18( I don't want to have to make pipes fit) and I am ordering a chip from the UK that with the boost re-set to 1 bar will push her up to 186 kw's , ( if the experts are to be believed - hope so)
Sorry, Its time for me to step in here an burst a few bubble’s , Hi Andrew.200SX my name is PFB on the forums, I’m not very liked but I have a lot of experience on the CA18DET.
There are a number of people from the UK that make chips for the CA18DET so I’m guess your looking at a Horsham or a Norris chip but I will be dead honest with you the CA18DET injectors max out at 175 Flywheel Kw when factoring in the FPR there simply isn’t enough fuel to produce the quoted power if you bump the FPR then you might make it but then your overall fueling goes out the window.
A lot of dyno figures are inaccurate because of the dyno operator, For example I had a run again a 2L Mazda Turbo bakkie so called pushing 220FWKw but ran ahead in both rolling and standing runs, I have done the calculations for my car so I know I cant be producing more then 185RWKW, Ambient correction and other tools can help any dyno operator lie.
Also I wouldn’t boost the stock turbo past 0,8bar the turbo is very inefficient even at the stock boost and has been known to sheer off blades at higher boost pressures plus the power capping 0.48 exhaust housing back pressure on a turbo car is the biggest power killer, If I could make a few recommendations it would be never boost past 0.8bar on the stock turbo, Clean the stock injectors, Clean the MAF, upgraded the Fuel Pump, Install a 76mm exhaust ,install an upgraded air filter, intercooler, bigger turbo, management system and upgraded injectors the clutch will also need to be done at some point.
But More importantly I don’t really know the condition of your SX but make sure she’s running on good quality synthetic oil, bleed the brakes, bleed the clutch , Change the Gearbox and diff oils as they normally never get changed, Flush the radiator coolent and do a comp test so you know what you are working with

Mr "Pinkfluffybunnys" , you sure seem to know your SX's.
I was wondering why if it was so easy to push up power that not everyone had done it.
I will take your advice and hold off on any higher boost until I have maybe changed to a T28 turbo , FMIC , injectors , etc.
The car allready has a 76mm freeflow and aftermarket filter.
The SX I bought is neat . 157000 km's . When I opened the cubbyhole , I found the owners handbook , with the service record. Full service history from the agents, even the original radio is in the car.
The owner says that he put in quality oil 3000 kilometres ago , but I want to do a service now ,and as you say change the gearbox and diff oil. Could you reccomend which oil I should use please ?
Thanks

Thanks PFB
You should take this info to heart,PFB really knows his stuff on the CA engine,If you want more power the list will just get bigger and bigger

,TRUST ME i know from experience,Went RB25,
If you start modding do it right from day one or it will cost you more in the end,
I see Motorcade is doing a FMIC off the shelf now
The CT guys try get together as often as possible,There are a few active members who are good friends now,Would be nice if you could join us for events

Same as my car and I bought mine from a nissan dealer and the head gasket went 100km later, never trust a SX

To me oil needs to be changed every 1500KM with full synthetic oil. I don’t trust Castrol after seeing a few edge cars motors but anything is better then mineral oil. I honestly can’t remember the diff oil but this all should be covered in the FSM just get the best oil for the grade needed it pays off in the long but don’t forget to clean you AFM, Throttle body and Idle control valve this can solve a lot of ghost issues

hehe.. i think the gist of what everyone is trying to tell you is to never forget that your amazing sx is now at least 15 years old or older..
as much as we all love these cars , things are going to start failing with spirited driving, its inevitable. so top notch maintenence should be top priority , and please dont even think of pushing a 15 year old motor to 1 bar without strengthening and proper rebuild, or your love for your new toy will quickly fade..
otherwise have fun.. they really are fun cars
