Hey Toby where can i find these Bosh people, coz my aircon works lekker only when the weather is cool eg. at night or early in the mornigs but 12:00PM when i really need it throws me the middle finger  .
And airncon light sometimes goes off, someone told me is a safetty feature 4 when the aircon thermostat reaches high temps (builds pressure  ) it switches the compressor off so it doesn't blow me tp pieces  .

And it stays off for while and eventually whem i'm neer home the fuck$#@er comes on again  .

Use the aircon guys next to the road if you want to buy a new compressor.
Most of them dont have a proper evacuating station which is needed to purge the system and build up a vacuum to suck the new gas in.

They use the comnpressor to "suck" the gas in. Except its not a gas at that point its a liquid.
Now if you paid attention in science you would know that liquids are incompressible ,so what do you think happens when your COMPRESSOR tries to compress that liquid?

If you go to a proper aircon guy he will pick up a serious leak before he even attempts to gas the system as it wont pull a proper vacuum.

If you let a shit load of gas out by accident that will explain why your aircon does'nt work.

Bruno there are a few failsafes in aircon systems
1: Thermostat prevents the system freezing.
2: Low pressure switch prevents the compressor running without gas
3: High pressure switch prevents the system from exceeding the pre set pressure.
4: Rupture disc this is a fitting on the reciever/dryer which literally ruptures if the pressure exceeds the maximum safe pressure.

Once again, I recommend Bosch - they are euipped with UV gas-leak-detecting-technology :-) This is one of their specialities. They can be found everywhere:

I don't know if they are the cheapest or not, however when I first took my car there for the aircon, they did something and gave me back the car and didn't charge me. The aircon worked for a short time, then didn't, os I took it back and they had a closer look and found the thermostat problem.
