Gone already sorry bud. I swapped for the stock box with all the fittings.

OK nso the spec has changed.... again...
Stock pistons are perfect so they will go back with new rings.
Cylinders have NO wear and still looks brand new.
Crank cut to 10 thou
Forged rods since 2 rods are busted...
Complete head rebuild (seats cut, valves seals etc.) along with some flowing.
New exhaust manifold.
New turbo.
Crank and all internals balanced.
New HKS SSQ BOV
New FMIC
Greddy rocker stoppers.
Rings are 3 weeks ex Japan from Nissan and awaiting all the machined stuff.

Ok just ordered piston rings and thrust washers from Nissan. Problem is it is only ex JAPAN... great... another 6 weeks...
Total came to R1500.

OK so update time...
Motor bits now with a second engineering shop as SPARTAN MOTOR ENGINEERING does not know what the F!@# they are doing. Hopefully they can sort out everything and I can rebuild. I however got my rings from Nissan but still awaiting the thrust washers.
Ordered a new oil pump through Jerry @ Import Parts as it was helluva lot cheaper than agents.... (R2900 VS R3900). I really have to say that Jerry has only but given me great service. Sometimes you wait a little for stuff to come from the US etc. but never has he ever spun me a story. If he forgot to order something he forgot and he tells me. I hate liars...

Nope waterpump is external and the old one will go back for now. just trying to get the car moving again at least... will change the pump once I do the first 1000km and change the oil and coolant etc...

i concur - never had any reason to doubt jerry service, myself.

anyway - phoenix - where is the engine now???
and please elaborate on what spartan did wrong??? i've been had by a few engineers myself, and its always a horrible thing!
i got great engineering done at camshaft center in town - can recommend them!

Well the stuf went in with the following on the job card:
Block:
Acid/Chemical wash - not done
Waterpipe under intake to be repaired - not done
Head:
Acid/Chemical wash - not done - SANDBLASTED on out side
Full rebuild/repair and replace worn/broken parts. - Done but how considering the rest???
Pistons:
Acid wash and cleanup - not satisfactory - definately not acid washed.
Crank:
Cut crank 0.25 - Done but journals not polished as requested
Full balance of all internals.
This all and he refuses to redo anything and I had to pay CASH to get my stuff... hope he is in financial trouble and sinks soon...

Time for a update...
Received this week:
Brand new oil pump - Jerry @ Import Parts... Awesome stuff yet again from them. the pump was 3/4 of the new price from Nissan and is a Nissan original item...
Block properly cleaned, honed, purged, decked... awesome and looks brand new. (will post some pics once it is on the stand.)
Cylinder head - looks brand new as well. also newly cut valve seats, new guides, new seals, diamond faced.
Repaired crank - journals polished, all internals fully balanced.
Flywheel skimmed and preped for the new ACT 6 puk clutch.
Exhaust manifold with diamond cut faces.
waiting for:
Thrust washers.
Time off to assemble.

Thanks man. Will start assembly the weekend. Have a goal of at least double checking the clearances and hopefully finishing assembly of the bottom end. Lotsa work to do still though...
